Travis Credit Union

Travis Credit Union

Travis is one of the largest credit unions in California, with more than more than 200,000 members and about $3 billion in assets.

Travis Credit Union (TCU) is a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution serving everyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus and Yolo counties. Travis is one of the largest credit unions in California, with more than 190,000 members and more than $2.7 billion in assets. Travis members can access their accounts at 23 convenient branch locations, 30,000 free CO-OP Network® ATMs, through Online Banking at traviscu.org or via our mobile apps, available on Apple® and Android® devices, or by telephone using Call-24 Phone Banking. Your savings are federally insured to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government agency.

Mission: We are dedicated to building lifelong relationships with our members to help them achieve their financial goals. Travis Credit Union makes a difference in the lives of the people we serve. As a secure and trusted financial institution, we advocate for the financial education and well-being of our members, assist the underserved, invest in our communities and inspire the passionate commitment of our employees.

We want to introduce to you another committed employee from our Napa branch. Norma has been part of our Travis family for close to two years now.

We spent some time at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Napa Valley last week. We brought some basic knowledge about money and savings. Members often ask us, "When is the best time to start talking about money and financial education?" Once kids are old enough to count, typically around the age of 2, parents should start teaching them about money.
Many parents and educators are surprised to discover that the majority of children today never receive money management coursework during any level of schooling, including college. This is our mission - to bring financial education to younger children and young adults. We start with T-Bird reading time and continue with Mad City Money, focused on helping teenagers develop responsible financial behavior.

Make a Friday a day to celebrate work well done, a work you can be proud of! Greeting from our Vacaville Branch on Cernon St!

Education is a fundamental driver of personal, national and global development. That's why Travis Credit Union awards every year 20 worthy high school students the Mary Keith Duff Memorial Scholarship. The Travis Credit Union Board of Directors established the scholarship program in 2004 and named it the Mary Keith Duff Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of a long-time board member, who passed away in December 2004. To date, Travis Credit Union has contributed $397,000 to the program and will continue to award $40,000 annually.

To all those who have served, and those who continue to serve… Thank you! Here at Travis Credit Union, we want to help you reach the cornerstone of the American Dream - homeownership. There are many advantages to a VA Loan. Learn more: https://bit.ly/2WKnevq

Welcome to Team Travis

We want to give a warm welcome to our newest team member - welcome Julie to our marketing team! We are excited to work with you and bring together our organization to the next level.

TCU President and CEO Barry Nelson led our Central Valley Community Meeting on May 29th at the beautiful Castle Air Museum in Atwater. Barry spoke on items discussed at our recent 68th Annual Meeting and focused on our financial investments and community impact in the Central Valley. Our members were excited to be able to hear from one of the 2019 Mary Keith Duff Memorial Scholarship recipients Cameron Gray from Buhach Colony High School in Atwater. Travis Credit Union also presented a donation to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), one of several recipients of funds from Travis in our continuing support of the local community.

We want to bring into the limelight Olivia Wasser from our Dixon branch. She has proven to be passionate member's advocate and an amazing team player.

We are deeply involved in the communities we serve. It was a pleasure for us to be part of the Vallejo Pista Sa Nayon Celebration. This festival marks the 33rd anniversary of the founding of the Philippine Cultural Committee of the Filipino Community in Solano County. More than 52,400 Filipino-Americans call Solano County home and Travis Credit Union partnered with the City of Vallejo and the Filipino-American Community to advance financial literacy efforts here and in surrounding areas. Here at Travis Credit Union, we love supporting educators in all counties we serve. Just recently we took part in the Award Ceremony for the 2020 Napa County Teacher of the Year. JoAnn Clark, an 11th and 12th-grade teacher at Valley Oak American Canyon High School, was the big winner of the night, demonstrating her passion and going above and beyond for each of her students. Barbara Nemko, Napa County Superintendent of Schools, said JoAnn Clark is the "teacher we all want our children to have.”

"I chose Travis Credit Union for the simple philosophy of ‘people helping people’. As a young girl, I had several opportunities to visit many Travis Credit Union branches. Every time I went in, I always got a feeling of excitement. I saw people walking around with smiles on their faces. They genuinely looked happy to be there. Professional but down-to -Earth individuals sitting at desks and windows helping others in need. The credit union appeared to be an important part of the community that was making a difference in people’s everyday lives and I wanted to be a part of that. That is why I’m so passionate about our Awesome Cause! I love to provide financial education in a way that’s easy for others to understand and can actually apply in their own daily lives." - Tamara Harper, Fairfield Branch

Fiesta Days were created in July 1957. Back in the days, it was called Western Fiesta and was connected to cowboy roundup and rodeo. The feel and taste of the country life were complete with square dancing, a Queen Contest, Jail, and Beard-growing Contest. The parade was run by the Fire Department. Today, the tradition is still alive and has evolved with 130 entries for the Saturday Parade. Travis Credit Union is proud to support such a long-lived tradition, making our community more inclusive, where our citizens and members feel safe, respected and comfortable in being themselves and expressing all aspects of their identities.

Just a friendly reminder.

Who else is excited about the Fiesta Days in Vacaville? Don’t miss out on the delicious food and fun rides! And tomorrow morning is the Parade!

A credit score is one of the most important components of your financial life. It determines how much you’ll receive when you apply for credit, the interest rate you’ll pay for borrowing that money and what lenders will be willing to lend to you. Sometimes, your credit score can play a part in a background check for a job or for renting an apartment or home. Learn more: https://bit.ly/2Jzn1bD

We have partnered with the Solano County Office of Education to honor teachers and supporting staff, who have dedicated their lives to build up the future generations. Lisette Estrella-Henderson, Solano County Superintendent of Schools, emphasized the importance of quality teachers and the need for recognition of the “behind-the-scenes" support staff. This year a custodian from Callison Elementary School -- DJ Stilwell -- was recognized with an Educator of the Year Award. The second award for Distinguished Educator of the Year was given to Matt O'Reilly, an art and design teacher at Benicia High School.

Today we want to celebrate Francesca, from our Vallejo branch, who has been part of Team Travis for the past four years.
