It’s a custom that retail stores order items in wholesale to then sell at their shops, but Business Owner of Mita Artisan Shoppe, Anabel Magallanes has a unique business model that is bringing Mexican culture to Tyler, Texas.

She travels to Mexico annually to meet with creative artisans that stitch and embroider everything by hand. Magallanes has met artisans from many parts of Mexico, from Michoacan, to Puebla, to many different states in the country, she finds hidden and indigenous families to support by purchasing products directly from them.

Mita Artisan Shoppe is located at 119 E. 8th St. in Tyler. Hours of business are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m to 4 p.m

The Tyler Loop presents a new video series, Tiny Loop Concerts, featuring local talented singer/songwriters from East Texas.

In Episode 2, we hear three songs from local Mariachi music sensation Brianna Arteaga.

Brianna is a student at Tyler Junior College and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2019. She has been performing since the age of 12, and in 2015, she was among the top12 contestants on La Voz Kids.

We thank Mita Artisan Shoppe in Bergfeld Center for hosting the Tyler Loop’s recording. The store sells hand embroidered clothing, gifts and accessories.

🤍I went from getting laid off work in May to owning my storefront in December🙏

When I was laid off my full time job in May, I was shocked. I was never brave enough to choose between my job and small business so for the past year and a half I juggled both.

GOD had a better plan for me. Two days later after being laid off, my first shipment of embroidered facemasks arrived. It sold out in a day and a half! From there on, selling facemasks became my full time job for the following months.

Opening my storefront was a dream come true. I am so grateful for this opportunity 🙏
