Heritage Farm Museum

Preserving the past and educating the future!

Located within Claude Moore Park in Sterling, Virginia, the Heritage Farm Museum lets you explore over 250 years of Loudoun County agriculture history through traditional, as well as, family friendly interactive exhibits. The Waxpool General Store and Farm Kitchen exhibits allow visitors to experience first hand what rural life was like 100 years ago. The Museum's Gift Shop also offers a variety of unique and Virginia-made items. The Heritage Farm Museum also offers a variety of school, scout and family programs. Special seasonal events are scheduled throughout the year such as our Autumn Apple Festival and Tractorpalooza.

We had a fun time last night hosting the Virginia Association of Museums Scholarship Reception. Thanks to Visit Loudoun, Monks BBQ, Crooked Run Brewery and everyone for showcasing Loudoun’s bounty!

We’re set up at the Inventor Expo at Algonkian Elementary School in Sterling. This milk pouring invention by one of the students would be great in our dairy exhibit at the Museum!

Thank you to everyone who attended our program "Farming in Sterling" last Saturday. A special thank-you to the descendants of the Edds, Ewing, Fitts, and Nokes families. For those who couldn't attend, here is one of the new interpretive panels we unveiled in our theater room.

We're getting ready for our new exhibit: "On the Farm: Quilts from Local Quilters." The vintage quilt, on loan from the Loudoun Museum, arrived today and it's gorgeous! Look at those vivid colors!
