"Catholic education is so important that I put all my chips in. St. George teachers laid a foundation for me to find my own faith in Christ.

Today I teach as a Jesuit in formation at @SeattlePreparatorySchool.

What we teach in our Catholic schools matter and makes a BIG difference in the world!

"I went to Catholic school, and I'm a big believer that it's better to give than to take" (00:35). A great example of Catholic education in action.

The 2017-18 school year begins-Day 1.
We are thrilled to see all of our students and families back as one BIG family! We missed you. Let the good times roll.

St. George wrapped up its inaugaral five week Summer School on July 29th, and it was a SUCCESS: ACADEMICS and FUN in the SUN!

Sixty students, Kindergarten through Eighth Grade, from 6 Catholic schools came to solidify the year's learning as well as get a head start on next year's. Some came just because learning is FUN!

Students spent 8:00 a.m.to noon every day practicing math, reading and writing skills through a variety of engaging activiies and games.. Four Fridays were devoted to experiential learning through field trips. We explored Hiram Chittenden Locks and the fish ladder. We hiked in the Snoqualmie National Forest and picniced on the, Snoqualmie River and even learned how to cast a fishing pole before checking out the Falls. We toured the UW (future Huskies!) and visited the Burke Museum. We even scoured Alki Beach for marine life and built sand castles!

To support parents, our program even offered Extended Care until 6:00p.m. Students brought all their wheeled toys from home and took over the playground, in between water play with the hoses and learning games in our computer lab.

We are forever grateful to our benefactors who value our mission to support students and their families by helping us subsidize the cost of summer school to those who qualified through scholarships.

In the words of a summer schools student: "I loved summer school. The teachers are nicer. I met new friends, and we go to go on fun fieldtrips! I want to come back next year!"

Save the date for St. George Summer School 2018: June 25-July 27th. Registration begins January 2018.
