Dune (1984)

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by a VHS tape of Dune that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, stains become a warning. Heavy Metal (1981)

As a response to the month of anime, one of our regulars loaned us his copy of Heavy Metal for us to watch. Filled with awesome music, violence and nudity, this film defined its own path when it came out in the early 80s. It's gonna be a fun one. #vhsmovienight Directed by Gerald Potterton, John Halas, Julian Harris. With Richard Romanus, John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Don Francks. A glowing green orb - which embodies ultimate evil - terrorizes a young girl with an anthology of bizarre and fantastic stories of dark fantasy, eroticism and horror.

Fist of the North Star (1986)

Tonight's film for #vhsmovienight is the classic martial arts anime Fist of the North Star. Hyper violent and very entertaining, it wraps up our month of anime, but if you didn't get enough or missed one you wanted to see, the Cinerama is beginning their anime festival this week. I recommend checking them out! Directed by Toyoo Ashida. With Akira Kamiya, Yuriko Yamamoto, Kenji Utsumi, Chikao Ohtsuka. A practitioner of the deadly martial art "Hokuto Shinken" allies with two children and an expert in "Nanto Suicho-Ken" to fight against the rivals who kidnapped his lover and threaten the prosperity of mankin...

May Schedule is up now. #vhsmovienight

Princess Mononoke (1997)

Ghost in the Shell (1995)

Tonight, we begin our Anime April with the original Ghost in the Shell, since the remake just came out. This entertaining and beautiful film is considered one of the greatest anime made. It's a great place to start. #vhsmovienight Directed by Mamoru Oshii. With Atsuko Tanaka, Iemasa Kayumi, Akio Ôtsuka, Kôichi Yamadera.
