A Day In The Life: How This Entrepreneur Is Changing The Chocolate Industry

Check out the Forbes article about one of our favorite people in the chocolate industry. Emily Stone, the CEO of Uncommon Cacao, is a former grass roots organizer and shareholder advocate who has become a tour de force in cacao sourcing. She has turned her talents to improving the lives of cacao farmers in Central America and improving the cacao available to craft chocolate makers. An interesting profile by journalist Megan Giller. Emily Stone's company, Uncommon Cacao, pays farmers a high premium and encourages them to produce higher-quality cacao beans, offering education in organic, sustainable growing and harvesting techniques as well as micro-loans for equipment and training.

[04/20/17]   Tonight's chocolate happy hour theme is craft chocolate maker Arete Fine Chocolate. Taste their single-origin chocolate from Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic's Öko-Caribe, SRL and more. Arete does a great job of building very tasty and complex flavors from their chocolate.

[04/13/17]   The theme for tonight's Happy Hour is "West Coast vs. East Coast." We'll have samples from Fresco Chocolate, Ranger Chocolate Company, Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate, Charm School Chocolate, Fruition Chocolate, and Escazu Artisan Chocolates to taste and compare.
