After leaving the court, she practiced as a land use associate attorney at Buck & Gordon, LLP. While at Buck & Gordon, Annette second-chaired her first trial, Bauman v. In 2005, Annette left private practice to serve as a King County Deputy Prosecutor. While in the Special Drug, Filing, Domestic Violence, and Violent Crimes Units of the criminal division, Annette was the lead prosecutor in more than 25 felony jury and bench trials. She experienced criminal hearings of every type, including but not limited to arraignments, first appearances, bond hearings, case setting, motions, readiness, sentencing, post sentencing hearings, review hearings, and probation violations.

In 2009, Annette reentered private practice as an employment litigator at a small plaintiff's firm, Breskin, Johnson, and Townsend, PLLC. She counseled employees on employment law matters and participated in nearly every aspect of civil litigation, including but not limited to discovery, depositions, motions practice, trial, and appellate practice.

Annette started her own freelance attorney practice in 2013.

Annette currently serves as a Pro Tem judge in Edmonds Municipal Court and King County District Courts. She also serves as co-chair on the King County Women's Advisory Board, which makes recommendations to the King County Executive and the King County Council to ensure the needs, rights and well being of women are taken into account by county government.

Adopt-a-Family - YWCA Seattle King Snohomish

Hi everyone:

So I'm posting because we decided to sponsor a family this year for the holidays.

In previous years, I have found that finding a family to sponsor is difficult because people sign up quickly (or maybe I sign up too late!....totally possible...). In any event, in emailing the YMCA (at this late date) to inquire about a sponsoring a family in the Seattle area that cannot otherwise afford a Christmas/Hannukah/other for their family, I learned that there are over 100 families that do not have a sponsor for the holidays.

So, I wanted to email people I know to spread the word that, well,
there are ONE HUNDRED families in the Seattle area who need some help to have a meaningful holiday for their families.

If you have the opportunity and inclination to sponsor a family, here is a link to coordinators in our area: https://www.ywcaworks.org/adoptafamily

For me, it was as simple as emailing a coordinator and asking if they had a family to sponsor. I emailed tonight and and received a response within MINUTES, letting me know there were 100 families that had no sponsors. Now we are talking about what size of family we can sponsor within our budget.

BTW: the link below says Snohomish, but it includes Seattle info too.
