Success Spotlight: Janice

Janice was admitted to a general hospital for emergency surgery to treat arterial thrombosis in her left leg. She required complex arterial surgery and was also found to be suffering from acute renal failure and had to begin hemodialysis to support her failing kidneys.

She was admitted to Kindred Hospital to begin recovery and rehabilitation therapy. She began treatment for wounds on her feet that prevented her from doing any weight-bearing exercises, but her attitude was always positive, which helped her progress and make inroads into her recovery.

When she first arrived at Kindred, she required maximum assistance with all her transfers and mobility needs. At the time of her discharge to a rehab center to continue on her journey to recovery, she was able to walk again and participated fully in her daily rehab sessions.

“I have recouped immensely here,” Janice shared. “When I was in the ICU my RN took care of all my needs and never made me feel embarrassed or ashamed. I’ve had the best care here! If you ever need to be in a hospital this is the place to be. All of the nursing staff has been warm, compassionate, and made me feel special!”

Janice, on behalf of everyone at Kindred we wish you all the best as you continue to recover! We will miss your smiling face and positive attitude and hope you’ll come back to visit us.

Today, we pay tribute to those who serve in the United States Armed Forces. Thank you for all you do for our country!

We Honor Veterans: Serving Those Who Served Us

Happy Mother's Day!

This is Kindred.

We sat down with Kindred caregivers from across the country to talk about what it's really like to take care of and help people every day. Many told us that helping others was the main reason they went into healthcare.

Now watch as they share stories of the challenges they face and the passion they bring to helping others.
