The Art of Sea, Sky & Sand
Founded by folks with a knack for customer service. And a passion for travel.
The year was 1996. Madeline Albright was appointed the first female Secretary of State. Dallas defeated Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. And an innovative senior housing company introduced a full-service travel agency devoted solely to the travel needs of seniors. But we’d been helping seniors travel long before then. As a One Eighty Hospitality company, we’ve been providing travel services to seniors for over 30 years. So when we say we know travel, we really mean it.
But that was only the beginning. Over the years Twist Travel evolved into a full-fledged travel agency, providing travel services for not only the senior population but anyone looking to twist things up and be delivered a not-to-be-forgotten travel experience that’s all about fun. Combined, our certified Travel Advisors have nearly five decades of experience in the travel industry. Pretty impressive, huh? At Twist Travel, you can be confident that your travel experience will be nothing short of perfection.
As an independent agency, Twist Travel is backed by Global Travel, one of the largest travel management companies in the Pacific Northwest. Through Global Travel we are affiliated with Virtuoso, a network of the world’s finest travel agencies and advisors who draw upon first-hand experience to craft the perfect vacation. Bottom line? Twist Travel has global connections with the best hotels and cruise lines in the world, giving you access to exclusive travel offers that you can’t get on your own, along with the best value for your money.
Coatepeque Caldera contains a large volcanic crater lake, said by some to be one of the most beautiful in the world. At the very least Lake Coatepeque is one of the most stunning bodies of water in El Salvador. Hot springs, private beach houses and beachfront hotels all dot the edges of the lake, helping to make this a popular Salvadorean weekend escape. The lake also contains Teopán Island, an ancient sacred site of the Mayan civilization. Which lakes do you consider the best in the world?
Karnak Temple is a huge, open air complex and, after the Giza Pyramids, the second most visited historical place in Egypt. The largest religious building ever constructed, it sits on 200 acres—a true wonder of the world. Decayed pylons, chapels and temples make up this unmissable historical attraction near Luxor.
Appearing as an unusual cross between a zebra and a giraffe, the okapi has been known to make people do a double take! They are so solitary and shy that they were long considered a mythical animal, and a picture of an okapi wasn't captured in the wild until 2008! In an effort to conserve their drastically reduced numbers, the Democratic Republic of Congo named the okapi as its national animal and put strict laws into place for its protection. The Okapi Wildlife Reserve in the Congo is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and works tirelessly to keep the okapi from becoming extinct.

“In fair Verona, where we lay our scene.” So wrote William Shakespeare at the opening of Romeo and Juliet.
A visit to Verona easily stirs the fancy of literary-minded travelers, as it is the setting of not one, but three memorable Shakespeare masterpieces. The city is also layered in a wealth of genuine history: Roman ruins, an acoustical marvel of a 1st century arena, medieval churches, villas, castles and more. What literary settings have you explored in your travels?
An ancient city and a primary attraction of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), Bagan sits on the banks of the Ayeyarwady River. Visitors to this exotic locale will see over 2,000 Buddhist monuments, the Dhammayangyi Temple, and the striking Ananda Temple.

2,000 years young and sitting on the banks of the Rhine in Western Germany, Cologne provides tourists a multitude of reasons to visit. Paramount among these is the Cologne Cathedral (pictured), the country's most visited attraction, and a prime example of "high Gothic" architecture. Meanwhile, the city's many museums house Picasso masterworks and 20th century art. And if you're in the mood for a party, go the week before Ash Wednesday, as a Carnival-related street festival (referred to as "the crazy days") lends the city a celebratory atmosphere.
