Seattle LDS Institute of Religion

Welcome to the Seattle Institute of Religion! Located right in the midst of the beautiful University of Washington campus, our institute building has been a gathering place, a refuge, and a place of learning for nearly 50 years. We offer 20 different classes--both day and night--open to all types of students: single and married, undergrad and graduate, full-time and part-time. We also have many non-student young single adults (ages 18-30) who participate in our program. In addition to classes, we sponsor activities, lunches on Fridays, a kitchen, a well-stocked LDS library, a wireless internet connection, a basketball court, and a game room where students play pool, foosball, ping-pong, and other games, and where people just come to hang out, meet friends, and retreat from the stress.

Aaaaaand we're back! We hope everyone had a good break! Classes start again tonight at 7:00pm at the North Seattle Stake center. The classes this fall will be Foundations of the Restoration and Women in the Scriptures. Both will be great and we hope to see you there!

Some of us are away from friends and family, or have responsibilities that weigh heavily on us. Some of us are trying to adjust after returning from a mission, or have just graduated from high school and aren’t sure...

Classes will resume in just a few weeks! If you (or a friend) are thinking about taking a class with us, here are some things you should know about Institute! When Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles encouraged young adults to become “the greatest generation of young adults in the history of the Church,” one thing he recommended they do was enroll in an institute of religion. He promised that by doing so, they would be better pre...
