Earth Ministry engages the faith community in environmental stewardship. Through our Washington Interfaith Power & Light project, we organize a multi-faith response to climate change.

Earth Ministry staff spent tonight at the Free the Snake rally in Clarkston, at which Julian Matthews of Nimiipuu for Protecting the Environment asked us to lead a prayer. Tomorrow we will put our prayers into action as we paddle the Snake River to call for pointless dams to be removed.

Council votes for climate plan ordinance

In the face of such great destruction due to wildfires in the Pacific Northwest, it's heartening to see positive steps being taken to combat climate change as a result.

Two Native American Tribes Lead Journeys to Save the Salmon

Pope, Patriarch: 'Cry of the earth' and cry of the poor are one voice

Pope Francis and Patriarch Bartholomew released a joint statement today to mark the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.

"The human environment and the natural environment are deteriorating together, and this deterioration of the planet weighs upon the most vulnerable of its people," they say. "The impact of climate change affects, first and foremost, those who live in poverty in every corner of the globe."
