It's a rough day in Fremont today with a bad fire on the 400 block of North 35th Street. Many roads are closed, but our Fremont clinic is open and patients have been able to get to their appointments. We are hoping this fire will be contained soon without any injuries - thank you to the brave fire fighters who are trying to get it under control!

MARCH THERAPIST OF THE MONTH: Lane Nussbaum, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Lane has been with MTI Physical Therapy since 2006 and practices right here in our Fremont clinic. Here’s what Lane has shared about his specialties and interests:
“I had no idea what physical therapy was until I tore my ACL playing basketball as a sophomore in high school. Going through the process of surgery and physical therapy inspired me to help others recover from injuries.
I enjoy seeing a wide variety of orthopedic patients on a daily basis and appreciate the one-to-one treatment approach, which allows me the time to create a unique therapy program to assist them in returning to their daily activities, sports, and hobbies as soon as possible. I also really enjoy teaching patients and students about the body and how physical therapy can help alleviate symptoms and prevent future injury.
I am currently working on my PhD in orthopedic manual therapy and my goal is to become an instructor for the Ola Grimsby Institute.
My special interests in physical therapy include:
• Biomechanical approach to Golf Performance & Fitness
• Running Analysis and Injury Prevention
• Shoulder Dysfunction in Athletics
The more I travel the more I realize that the Northwest is a great place to live and in my spare time you can find me exploring Seattle for great new restaurants and pubs, listening to live music, playing guitar, skiing, and golfing.”

It's been 11 days since the fatal mudslide in Oso and relief workers are still on site working hard to bring some closure to families. While there has been a huge community response with donations for the victims, all of the relief organizations are now saying that what they need most is money, which can be allocated as needed. MTI Physical Therapy just made a donation to the local American Red Cross to support the relief efforts in Oso. We invite you to join us in supporting this local community. To find out how you can help, visit http://www.redcross.org/news/article/Red-Cross-Helping-at-Scene-of-Tragic-Mudslide.
