The office is led by the vice president for University Advancement who reports directly to the University president. Reporting directly to the vice president are the Associate Vice Presidents for Advancement Services, Constituency Programs, Individual Giving Programs, and UW Medicine; the Executive Director of the UW Alumni Association; and the Director of Finance & Administration and Marketing.

[02/13/14]   School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Major Gift Officer. The Major Gifts Officer will have an assigned portfolio of rated prospects and will work with the Assistant Dean of Advancement, academic leaders, volunteers and other advancement staff members to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts in support of School of Nursing priorities. The MGO may also have assigned responsibility for oversight and coordination of fundraising initiatives in one or more programs or departments.

The MGO will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Advancement to qualify, cultivate, and solicit new research - rated prospective donors in preparation for the next campaign. This portion of the position will focus on a significant volume of cold-calls and proactive outreach to secure face-to-face qualification visits, and ultimately solicit individual prospects for major gifts, or recommend prospects to other members of the advancement team for solicitation at other appropriate gift levels.
