We are a bistro and bar located in Ballard that welcomes hungry diners, beverage enthusiasts, neighbors and visitors alike.
The name Brimmer & Heeltap commemorates the proper pour, one that teases the top of the glass and culminates in a satisfying glimpse of the bottom. Like a good toast, Brimmer & Heeltap is a place that evokes camaraderie – a sense of where we've been and where we want to arrive.
In early 2012 we endeavored to set our own table. The idea was to fashion a destination just on the other side of your doorstep: a gathering space for friends, with all the comforts of home and a uniquely crafted menu of small bites, family style plates and thoughtful libations.
We opted for a quarter of the city where we feel intrinsically connected. Ballard is a lauded destination for its entrepreneurial temperament and flourishing establishments – the proximity to other dynamic Seattle neighborhoods being the proverbial icing on the cake.
Thanks to the dedication (and appetites!) of friends and family we are looking forward to cultivating an eatery that we’re proud to hang our hat in.
We invite you to pull up a seat and share in Chef Mike Whisenhunt’s locally inspired innovations and our bartender Brian Hibbard's concoctions.

CULINARY TEAM MEMBER SHOUT OUT: Sam Osheroff
A deeply creative person, Sam excels as a pantry chef and has even helped elevate our dessert program by experimenting with complex flavors and turning them into inspired frozen desserts. He’s been in the trenches during many a brunch service, and is now taking ownership of the grill station.
Not only have Sam’s technical skills improved immensely in his time at B&H, his patient, driven disposition has propelled him to become a leader among his teammates. Crew members from both the culinary and service teams seek out Sam for creative solutions or questions about food. His focused, positive, and easygoing presence inspires his teammates and makes him a pleasure to work with.
Be sure to say hi to Sam on your next visit!
