Aki Kurose Theatre Arts

A Full Theatre Arts Program at Aki Kurose Middle School Academy

Established in 2008, Aki Kurose Theatre Arts (AKTA) is one of only a few full-time theatre arts programs at a public middle school in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to partnering with local professional theatre organizations, AKTA offers six curricular periods of theatre arts instruction as well as after-school performance and competition opportunities. Instruction includes performance skills, audience etiquette, script study, ensemble-development, and technical design.

AKTA has the highest expectations for its students—nearly 90% of whom receive free or reduced price meal services. AKTA teaches its students the power of the theatre experience while also providing skills to build their dreams.

Ever been to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival? Aki Theatre Students have the opportunity to go and could use your support. NOW until December 4th, Donors Choose will MACTH your donation when you enter the code 'SPARK' during checkout!

THANK YOU for any amount you are able to give or for your help sharing this post!
