It's official! We're opening a new restaurant in the Shilshole Bay Marina. Coral Garnick, writer for the Puget Sound Business Journal, shares the news and interview with Duke Moscrip.
A simple review cannot possibly describe how good the food is at Duke's--diversity in flavor, texture, and method of preparation makes this our favorite place to eat in Seattle. The Coco Loco prawns are the best--until you try the Cabo Wabo prawns, which, almost impossibly, somehow taste even better--the little avocado/tomato side dish with the Cabo Wabo prawns was one of the most delicious things I'd ever tasted--I won't even get into how good the stuffed sole or stuffed halibut is, because this is a family website. The staff is super accomodaing, the atmosphere is relaxed, and somehow the food seems to taste better every time we go. We travel a lot, and we always like to find local, "non chain" restaurants to try. Duke's is so good that we literally plan trips to Seattle by first deciding when we will eat at Duke's, then we plan the rest of the trip around it.

At Duke’s, we source much of our seafood from Alaska, and the question often gets asked: Why Alaska?
I smile and say, “that’s where the fish are.”
All jokes aside, though, the decision to source Duke’s Wild Salmon and Halibut from Alaska is made very deliberately and for very good reason.

Take a moment to think about the moms in your life—your own mother, grandmother, aunts, sisters, wives—and how they have affected your life. How they touch the lives of everyone around them. Mothers bring us into the world, raise us, and support us.
On Sunday, May 14, you have an opportunity to show your appreciation and gratitude for everything that mothers do. Mother’s Day is dedicated to showing all mothers that they are irreplaceable; our lives just wouldn’t be the same without them.

At first glance, this restaurant looks like many other seafood places. My son and I went on a Friday night, without a reservation. We got lucky with a booth in the bar area. I eat gluten-free, and the server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The chef is very particular about the ingredients and I was impressed! We had bisque....oh so yummy! We ordered salmon entrees and the goodness was off the charts! The price was worth it for a special evening, though there were plenty of less expensive options on the menu if we had liked. Everything was top notch!
