Where do you want to go in your next ceremony?
Deirdre offers a review of her experience after receiving healing for anxiety and grief on the Temple of the Way of Light's 3-week Deep Immersion Ayahuasca Retreat in Peru. Deirdre also discusses how she benefited from the variety of complimentary programs that support integration of ayahuasca / shamanic healing.
The Deep Immersion Retreat is the result of our evolving vision of combining the healing power of ayahuasca and plant-spirit shamanism with progressive therapeutic and Eastern integrative practices, and is a culmination of what we have learned through facilitating healing for over 5000 guests since the Temple was established in 2007.
Our Deep Immersion Retreat is a combination of the following:
1) An ayahuasca/plant-spirit shamanism retreat, with 8 ceremonies spread out over the duration of the month. Intimate ceremonies limited to only 12 participants led by two Shipibo healers (one male and one female).
2) A yoga retreat, with daily classes led by experienced teachers.
3) A meditation retreat, with daily meditations led by experienced teachers.
4) A self-development retreat, with particular focus on self-inquiry, self-reflection and deep shadow processing and integration work.

"Ultimately, we feel that inviting indigenous students to participate in ceremonies is an opportunity for well-known retreat centers, institutions that have established satisfactory standards of good practices, to reciprocate and share that wealth of accumulated, syncretic knowledge back to indigenous youth. It is also an opportunity to learn how ayahuasca is perceived and practiced in their various communities of origin, and an open channel to engage in a deeper conversation regarding the respectful and reciprocal use of ayahuasca in a predominantly Western setting."
Shelby Hartman on ayahuasca: “In the Shipibo system of healing, the shamans are highly trained physicians. They’re doctors that have spent years and years learning how to practice medicine in a way that’s totally different from the way we practice medicine,” - Dr. Tanya Maté (Integration Director of the Temple)
The only moment there ever is, is now.
Your entire life is now. Whatever you experience, feel, think, do — is always now, has always been now, will always be now. Don’t live as if the now were a secondary thing because the next moment is more important. There is no next moment. When the next moment comes, it is now.
