Celebrate mom with a basket of exotic butters!
This Mother's Day, have you considered a basket of exotic butters?
Grab a leftover Easter Basket, fill it with leftover Easter grass (you might find all of this stuff on sale at your local drugstore) and fill it with butter-- especially Mother's Choice, our retro brand. :)
EVERYBODY LOVES SOCKS.
Don't know what to gift your friend that has backyard chickens or not-so-secretly wants to run a baby goat rescue shelter?
We devote a corner of The Creamery to cow & goat & chicken themed knickknacks that are almost impossible to find elsewhere.
And not just these colors either! All of the designs in the goat/chicken/sheep Wheelhouse socks are in a range of muted, understated earthtones for people that want some whimsy without clashing colors.
But we've also got bright black and white cow toe socks that end in pink five-toe udders if you need a bigger shot of whimsy to get through the rainy days of May/
There's a dirty joke in here somewhere, but I haven't thought of it yet.
It's laying season and we have LOTS of goose and duck and quail eggs!!!
Goose eggs are 3-4 inches long, depending on breed of goose and age of goose. The yolk is a lovely orange, about the size of a canned peach half. All eggs have the same basic egg flavor. They vary by HOW much flavor and if they are rich or lighter. Goose eggs have plenty of flavor and a bit richer than chicken eggs. They taste so fresh. Just prepare them the way you normally enjoy your eggs. They are delicious for breakfast or dinner. Often, folks who are allergic to chicken eggs can eat goose and duck eggs without any reaction.
We also offer beautiful ostrich egg shells. We haven’t found any fresh, local ostrich eggs but a friend in Texas ships us the blown out shells of ostrich eggs. They are so cool, they are 5-6 inches in diameter and they could be the Easter Surprise! If you do an egg hunt, they would be great fun. They are lovely just setting in a basket. My ostrich egg shell is decorated and wired into a brass lamp stand and when I turn on the light, it light glows softly through the shell.
We also have all sizes of chicken eggs, white, brown and green. If you choose the brown eggs to dye for Easter, the finished colors are softer than when you dye the white eggs. The tiny quail eggs are pre-decorated with spots…so, if time is short, they are perfect. They hard boil in just 5 minutes. Let them dry, then dip into dye.
They are so cute!
