Roots of Connection

Roots Of Connection, Kids! (ROCK) offers a forest preschool program in beautiful Woodland Park, as well as a multi-age Homeschool Enrichment program.

ROCK! (Roots Of Connection, Kids!) is an OUTDOOR MULTI-AGE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM offered through Tara's Tots schools. The class spends each day exploring nature in Woodland Park and then returns to our Linden home for a healthy, vegetarian hot lunch. ROCK! is accepting enrollment for preschoolers 4-5 years of age. Additionally, we are offering an outdoor homeschool enrichment program for learners ages 6-12 on Wednesdays and Fridays. Students will learn about local ecology, edible and medicinal plants, animal tracking, fire making, shelter building, and conservation within a supportive, multi-age community. Our curriculum focuses on the interests of our students, and is interactive and fun! For more information, visit our webpage, or contact Tara's Tots. Program opens Autumn 2016.

Roly Poly!
Join the Roots of Connection community with our newest program -Roly Poly- Open to parents and their tots ages 3.5 and under.

The Roly Poly program is designed for parents who want their children to grow up connected to nature. By kindling early connections to the earth, children will form strong bonds to nature that they will bring with them for all of their lives. At the Roly Poly program, Naturalist and Early Childhood Educator, Delora, will facilitate activities that encourage bonding between parents and children over shared wonderment of the natural world.
The Roly Poly program is offered in one and a half hour sessions on Thursdays. Each session will focus around a theme in nature, and include a project, sensory activities, and tea-time with stories.

Lead Teacher, Delora, spent 11 years as an interpretative naturalist for the Cleveland Metroparks and Michigan Nature Centers. After raising a nature-connected child, Delora went on to teach at Environmental Connections Outdoor School, and Roots of Connection. She loves sharing her passion for nature in a joyous setting with children.

$15 per session, or $60 for five sessions. ($15 savings)

Sessions Run Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Woodland Park. To enroll, or for more information, visit:

Sit spot notes. The kids completed a 15 minute sit spot. The smiley and frowney faces represent the moods of the bird calls. Their illustrations and words represent what they observed. The horizontal lines represent the passage of time.
