diving into my photo archives and found some early spring photos from that time at Mammoth Caves and Four Roses...
rebeccamirgrady.com While we are all stuck at home during this lockdown, I’ve been traveling instead to the past, to my photo archives, revisiting old trips. This week, I came across some photos from a trip a while back to Kentucky. It was early spring then, as it is now, trees were starting to get the hint of green,
New post up on the journal, all about rings, every which way.
Maybe this is a strange time for a post about rings? Yes, most definitely. Right now most of us are in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown, and all of the stores that carry my work are closed. I’ve been meaning to put this post together for a while, and now I have some extra time on my hands. And I’ll be honest, this was a fun project: in the middle of so much uncertainty, it was fun to pull out all the rings and be reminded why I do what I do. I photographed all of these rings on my own hand (with my phone, much easier when trying to shoot photos of one's own hand...) and painted my nails to distract you from just how dry my hands are right now with all this handwashing! Let me know if I missed anything, and I'll add it to the post.
rebeccamirgrady.com Let’s talk rings, stacking rings, engagement rings, wedding rings. Ring are my favorite and I make a lot of them. I make rings for all genders, with most styles available in a range of sizes from 4-12. I’ve done some posts in the past on ring sizing , stacking rings , and wedding bands . I’ve ...
While I’m at home with travel plans on hold, I’ve been sifting through old photos and picking out my favorites. It’s a nice way to revisit memories, find inspiration in older work, and (also important but perhaps less exciting) get organized. Here are some of my favorites from a perfect day a long time ago at Point Reyes!

If you're looking for some books to get lost in, here are my favorites for 2020 so far:
rebeccamirgrady.com I had fun compiling last year’s year in books list, so I’m making it a regular thing! Here is part one of my 2020 year in books. This is a list of books I’m reading and loving so far this year. For the record, if I don’t like a book, I usually don’t finish it, so you’re never gonna see i...
[03/20/20] It's a strange time to launch new photography services, but I'm doing it anyways, starting with a photo session giveaway over on my photography focused insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/B999MfzlO4R/
I love the way the light comes in at the end of the day and slowly paints shapes on the wall across the room. I love using the light along with my camera to create images. Sometimes it can be a spotlight. Or the light at golden hour, casting a halo of soft warm light on everything, right before the sun goes down. The light on a cloudy day offers up a soft, matte lighting, perfect for that spot just next to the window, or hiding in a hedge. I like to work with whatever light I’ve got for the day, to push it to create beautiful, thoughtful images.
I've been sprucing up my website a bit, and I'm almost ready to share some new photography packages with you. They'll be here in a week or so. Until then, I want to share a bit more about my work, how I work, and more. There's a new post up in the journal all about photography, and I've created a second instagram account, where I'll be sharing more photo work: https://www.instagram.com/becca_grady/ . I'm going to be having a giveaway for a photo session soon, and I'll announce all the details over at https://www.instagram.com/becca_grady/ so head over there, hit follow and stay tuned for all the details.

So excited to share this studio visit with one of my dear friends Elizabeth Kelley Erickson on the journal! On my last two visits to Maine, we chatted in her studio about her new work. She's got work in a show at Frank Brockman Gallery in Brunswick, Maine that opens on March 7, is in the Nano show at Engine: Propelling the Creative Community in Biddeford, and has work up at Amesbury Pilates - Positive Works.
rebeccamirgrady.com Elizabeth Kelley Erickson is a painter based in Maine. We’ve been friends for over twenty years. It’s been ages since we’ve done a studio visit, so on my last two visits home to Maine, in September and again in January , we made the time to sit down in her studio and chat about the work she’...
Maple snow cones, empty beaches, snowstorms, and more:
rebeccamirgrady.com Growing up in Maine, summers at the beach, in all their sandy, salty glory are embedded in my memory. I can still taste the salt on my upper lip after a day in the ocean. Less appealing but equally memorable was the moment at home, taking my swimsuit off in the shower and finding seaweed that had be

rebeccamirgrady.com I've slowly acquired a small collection of special one-of-a-kind stones, so I'm excited to now offer a small selection of one-of-a-kind necklaces and rings in the Ready to Ship shop on my website. Opals have long been a favorite stone of mine, and so it's only
looking back through photos of another snowstorm, a world away
rebeccamirgrady.com It didn’t start off like photo above. It was a winter day, almost ten years ago. Nicole and I left Bologna for Venice on the early train. It was grey and chilly. We were taking the long way back to Torino, with a day, really just a few hours, to wander around Venice. It was quiet, decidedly not to...

More snow is in the forecast, so here are some of my favorite photos in my favorite mountain town in Colorado:
rebeccamirgrady.com At the weird moment between just before it’s officially winter, when the snow is already falling in the mountains, Sonia and I drove up to Colorado for a long weekend. Nederland is a small town at 8,000 feet about a half hour from Boulder. We ended up there accidentally on a trip to the Rocky Moun...
rebeccamirgrady.com This past week, as I get ready to launch the new collection, I turned the camera on myself. I love getting a glimpse into the studios and work spaces of other creatives. I am a photographer, jeweler, painter, and writer. I work across many mediums, and I like to collaborate.
Born in Alaska and raised in Maine, my creative sensibility is steeped in saltwater and mountains. When I was too little to walk, I was pulled around on a sled by a german shepherd called Rusty. I live with my wife in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and travel to see the ocean as much as possible.
I am an advocate for environmentally sustainable practices, and I make all of my jewelry by hand from reclaimed precious metals - primarily Sterling Silver and 14k Gold - and ethically-sourced stones.
