Anyone using Golden Hour for your charting? Takes forever!!! I'm developing a "hacks" worksheet to cut/paste the more common phrases in segments of the chart. If you have any you have used, please PM me. Looking to cut my charting time in half! Thanks all. Safe flying!!! Jeff.

FlightCare is owned and operated by Med-Trans. Med-Trans Corporation is a FAA Part 135 certificate holder and operator.

FlightCare is committed to the delivery of safe and clinically excellent patient care. Our ongoing mission is to improve patient outcomes, work together as a team and to maximize our knowledge and skills through continued education. Our crews background and experience enable us to initiate sophisticated interventions during flight, following Physician approved protocols. Our pilots are certified and experienced in both day and night flights. On top of that, each pilot has over 2,000 hours of flight experience. Hours of operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, weather permitting.

Here is flight nurse Lucas getting a little off the top. It may not be his weekly mani/pedi that he is used to, but it will have to do.

We are hanging out at Hoyt Park in Saginaw handing out candy for the City Trunk or Treat. We will be here until we are out of candy. Come and see us!

Congrats to Flight Nurse/Paramedic Brooke for passing her CFRN test this week. After studying for over 3 months, she passed on her first attempt! Many say that this is one of the hardest test that nurses can take and Brooke absolutely crushed it!

Twice a year the crew at FlightCare have the opportunity to keep up their skills by utilizing the sim lab at CMU College of Medicine. Under the guidance of our Medical Director, we do complicated case scenarios as well as doing advanced medical procedures such as cricothyrotomy, pericardiocentesis, chest decompression, and ultrasound.

Leave it to Matt to get in every picture! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here are a few more pictures of the water egress and survival training that our crew participated in this week.

We absolutely love Michigan at FlightCare! However, due to the amount of water in our service area we have to be prepared for everything.

These past two days the flight crew took part in water egress and survival training in the very unlikely event we needed to make a water landing. Wearing a helmet, flight-suit, and shoes, we were taught how to safely get out of a simulated aircraft moments after landing in the water.

We can't say thank you enough to therescuecompany1 from the Orlando, Florida area that traveled to Michigan to provide us this priceless education.

There is something special in the air at FlightCare. And that special thing is Lori. Today marks her 30th anniversary at FlightCare as a flight nurse. Yes, 30 years!!!!!

Lori is thoughtful, kind, and has the most beautiful soul. She truly is a pleasure to be around. Her contributions to FlightCare and the entire EMS industry will likely never be duplicated.

Today we say thank you to Lori and we all look forward to seeing you at FlightCare for years to come.

Thanks to Kawkawlin Twp. FD, McLaren Bay EMS, Bay Co Sheriff Dept., and Bangor Twp. FD for setting up an excellent LZ for a scene flight this afternoon. Thank you for all that you do!

Who doesn't like a great story?

When Ed decided to spend part of his summer on Lake Huron in Oscoda (from his home in Indiana), he never thought that the worst case scenario could happen. Shortly after unloading the car, he went inside the cabin to grab a drink. Moments later he was found not breathing and without a pulse by his adult daughter. She quickly got some help from some neighbors and called 911. Collaboratively they started CPR until the ambulance came. Upon EMS arrival, he was defibrillated twice and regained spontaneous circulation and then transported to a local hospital.

FlightCare was then called to transport him to Ascension St. Mary's and he went directly to the cardiac cath lab. He had an occluded coronary artery and received an angioplasty and stent.

Here is a picture of Ed and his daughter standing next to FlightCare upon his discharge on his way back home to Indiana.

The out of hospital survival rate of sudden cardiac arrest is around 6%.

Your life is defined by two dates and a dash, make the most of your dash.

We couldn't be happier for you Ed.

Huge THANK YOU to the Saginaw Township Fire Department for setting up a perfect Landing Zone for us during Party on McCarty!!

Busy day for the crew. Had three flights today and covered most of Michigan.

We canโ€™t help but root on the USA WNT Finals today. However, we have to keep a close on on our pilot today. Letโ€™s just say, he gets a little excited....๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿฅ…

By the way, we have a bet on how many likes this post can get by the end of our shift. So please, press the button!

[07/04/19]   Wishing everyone a great holiday weekend and please be safe. Recently we have seen an increase in very preventable injuries. Not to sound like your mom or dad, but wear seatbelt, don't drink and drive, don't play with fireworks, and wear your helmet (full faced helmet please). ๐Ÿ˜€
