April 11, 1912: The Titanic moored off the coast of Ireland, near Queenstown, now known as Cobh. Using tenders, 123 passengers came aboard, and a few disembarked. One of them had boarded the day before and taken pictures of the ship, providing a rare photographic record of the journey. The ship set sail for New York at 1:30 pm.

Three days later, on April 14th, the Titanic hit an iceberg.
Please join me on the anniversary of that event, Sunday, April 14, for Titanic trivia at Scrawl Books in Reston Town Center (across from Balducci's). I’m also celebrating the launch of S’more Murders, my 5th Five-Ingredient Mystery, in which murder strikes on a yacht during a dinner that re-creates the final meal served on the Titanic. Stop by Reston's new bookstore at 2 PM Sunday for prizes, snacks, and fun facts about the ship and its survivors.

If you haven't visited Scrawl Books in its new location, I've included a map to help you find it.

New books today! You can’t go wrong with any of these titles.

So much going on this week! Get the details here:
