The Patrick Henry College fencing club is a student-run organization that meets once a week to play with swords and have an all around good time. It's a great way to burn some calories on a Saturday evening, get to know people you wouldn't necessarily spend time around otherwise, and practice your skill with a blade. No prior experience is required, and we will provide the necessary safety equipment and weapons for you. Attendance for your first two weeks is free, and membership is only $10 for the entire semester! We'll announce online and via email if we have to cancel club, so be sure to get on our mailing list and give us a like for regular updates!
[08/27/16] Hey all! So, due to the Pence Rally, it is unlikely that the gym will be cleared out and the setup torn down in time for us to have our first meeting tonight. We are, consequently, going to have to postpone until next Saturday. Sorry for the inconvenience!
[08/22/16] Our first fencing meeting of the semester will be this Saturday, from 7-9PM in the basketball gym! We'll be covering the basics of fencing and hopefully have a few bouts, so come on out and see what this fencing thing is all about!
[08/05/16] We are pleased to announce that the PHC fencing club will resume its weekly meetings this semester! 7-9PM Saturday evenings in the basketball gym. Come out to burn some energy, release some stress, make new friends, or all of the above! Hope to see you there!
[04/23/16] Hey everyone! I know we haven't been able to meet this semester because of some serious scheduling issues, but who would be interested in seeing fencing make a comeback on PHC's campus next semester?
Fencing again tomorrow evening--same time, same place. :) Be there, and bring your friends and enemies alike!
7-9pm, BHC Gym
[10/10/15] Fencing tonight in the gym! 7-9pm. Come out for a fun study break, bring your friends, and let the duels begin!
[10/07/15] Next fencing club meeting will be this Saturday, 7-9 in the gym! Show up and bring your friends! :)
[09/26/15] Just a reminder: tomorrow's practice will be in the Hodel Center basketball court from 7-9 pm! Come on out if you're even *remotely* interested in fencing, so you can see what it's all about! :) Hope to see you there!
[09/20/15] Hey guys! Fencing club got off to a late start this year, but we *are* still planning on meeting. Our first practice of the year will be Saturday, September 26 from 7-9pm in the BHC basketball court. This meeting is for anyone who's even remotely interested in fencing, and no prior experience or equipment is required. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sarah Geesaman or Julia Tomaszewski. (You can find our email addresses in the student directory.) We hope to to see you there!
