Looks great, Wayne!
The store reminds me of bike shops in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. If you want a classic steel bike, this is the store. Velo Classique also stocks Compass Tires and NFS chain lubricant.
Thank you Wayne and Alexander for the wonderful event yesterday. We look forward to seeing you all soon enough!
Any possibility of joining you to make a custom order of ALE water bottles from Italy? I have been looking for a source of vintage-look water bottles to make a round of 20-30 Carlton reproduction bottles.
In honor of Robert Millar's birthday (yesterday)....
Hey Wayne, new vintage bike shop here in Bourg d'Oisans, France, awesome bikes and vintage gear
hi...interested in the palette meteor u guys have...what do u rate the condition

Velo Classique is a unique bicycle shop specializing in vintage and classically styled bikes, parts and accessories. We also service bikes of all ages. Conveniently located in Purcellville, VA just off the end of the W&OD bicycle trail.

It's been so busy at the shop that I haven't had much time to post pics of some of the really cool bikes we've been working on lately. This is a custom Alpine built by Fred Kelly in Rockville MD. In for a mild refresh for the original owner. I had heard that Kelly built some filet-brazed frames, but this is the first fillet-brazed Alpine I've seen.

This past week a young man, Darren, came to the shop riding a very clapped-out, full-suspension department store bike and asked if we could fix the chain. It was pretty obvious that the bike had MUCH greater problems than the chain. Among other things, the rear shock mount had completely broken away and the swing arm was contained only be the lower pivot and the rear cables.Fortunately for Darren, someone had donated a decent Fuji about an hour before. James put a new chain on the Fuji, gave it a quick check and tune, and sized it up for Darren. So we returned the favor of the donated bike by donating it to Darren. By the look on his face, I think Darren was pretty happy when he left.

Velo Classique will be closed tomorrow, Saturday April 11th. It's a good day for all of us to stay home with our families and be safe. We will reopen with our limited 10-4 hours next Tuesday thru Saturday for the foreseeable future, and only allowing one customer in the shop at a time, offering full service, parts and consultation on our custom builds. And we still offer free, no-contact enclosed/secure pick up and delivery. Thanks for your continued support and patronage in these uncertain times.

To better serve our customers and our community, we are now offering free enclosed local no-contact pick-up and delivery with our tune & repair services. Give us a call to see if you qualify and to make an appointment. Our winter hours are still in effect, so Tue-Sat 10-4, but we can also do pick-up and delivery as we travel to and from the shop outside those hours. Keep riding!

We are still open for your service and parts needs, but for now we are continuing with our winter hours of 10-4 Tue-Sat. In these difficult times, we are taking every precaution and following the situation daily, which we're sure you are doing as well. Consequently, it is best to call ahead to be sure we can accommodate you. We still have good turn-around times on most service. We appreciate your support and hope everyone stays safe in these uncertain days.

Gearing up for the season! Our new mural panel for the back of the building, which faces the W&OD bike path. By local artist and friend Patricia Rollins. This pic doesn't show scale, but the panel is about 4.5' x 7.5'. Thanks Patricia!

So sad the hear of the passing of Roland Della Santa this past Saturday. Probably best known for building steel frames for Greg LeMond during his race days, Roland was still building beautiful frames right up until his death. I had gotten to know Roland pretty well over the years, and I'm extremely grateful that I got to spend some time with him in Sacramento (NAHBS) in March. Late in the show I was passing his booth and noticed he was uncharacteristically NOT surrounded by people, so I sat and chatted with him for 30 minutes or more. Anyone who knew Roland would know that I listened more than talked. That's what you did with Roland because he had the best stories. He gifted me this bottle that day. I will certainly miss him.

This arrived at the shop today. The book has been out for a while now, of course, but Velo Classique provided parts for a couple of the bikes used for the project. Happy to have played a small part in the effort, and for the recognition. It's a really nice book. Order a copy and/or stop by the shop and browse through ours in our new upstairs lounge and reading room!

Mike Barry 1938 – 2018

So sorry to hear the news of Mike Barry's passing. I first met Mike at one of the Cirque events, and continued to see and chat with him at other bicycle related events over the years as we traveled in similar circles. Mike was always a friendly, kind and sharing person, truly one of the grand gentlemen of the cycling community. RIP my friend.   0 1 Michael John Barry, father, grandfather, husband and a pillar of Canada’s cycling community, died on Dec. 29 at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was 80. Born in Wimbledon, England in 1938 to Percival and Eva Fanny (Vardill) Barry, Mike was a builder of communities, an inexhaustible source of knowle...

Our good friend and CA frame builder Mitch Prior appears to have lost his home and shop in Paradise CA where the Camp fire has decimated most all of the town. Please help support this talented, young American frame builder recover his life and work. We will help spread the word to our great cycling and frame building community. Please do the same and donate if you can. Thanks! Mitch has in all likelihood lost his house and shop in the Camp Fire in Butte County. His house was in Paradise and all reports make it sound like that town is pretty much leveled. Mitch told me he didn't see his house go up but when he left his property embers were landing on his roof and tree...
