The Missouri Lions Eye Foundation is in need of ODs to participate in two mission trips in 2018. Our goal is to recruit and send Missouri lions on two mission trips this year, and we are very close to achieving this, but are still recruiting physicians needed for each trip (1 for Mexico, 2 for Panama). I would appreciate your help in distributing this information to as many lions as possible in order to complete the recruitment requirement and make our mission a huge success. Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated. These mission trips will provide the gift of sight to hundreds improving their quality of life and changing lives. Time is of the essence as we have 3 open spots to fill as quickly as possible. Doctors receive $500 to help cover the cost of airfare. You do not have to be a member of a Lions Club. Mission leadership is being provided by an experienced mission leader, through Lions in Sight of California and Nevada, as well as the necessary testing equipment. Missouri Lion technicians will assist with the clinic organization and fitting and placement of recycled eyeglasses based upon needs and prescription from the eye doctor team. In most clinics it is expected to see roughly 400 patients per day. Details are as follows: Mexico (1 OD needed) April 19-22, 2018 Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas Panama (2 ODs needed) Panama City September 1-8, 2018 In cooperation with Local Lions in the community where the clinic is located, ground transportation, meals and lodging will be covered for each participant. If you can’t go – would you please forward to any doctor you think could? Please contact me by email [email protected] or phone 573-268-1458 Lion Doris Eagle.
