So for those of you still trying to find people to go with, mother nature gave you more time. Thanks Pacha Mama! #RaiseHigh #SupportPolo

PLAYER OF THE DAY:

Max Weiser - Class of 2020

Max is the only player on the team that has "GW Polo" on his Instagram bio, that should say a lot about his commitment to the team. It's safe to say if it weren't for Max, the polo program at GW would not be any different than GW's football team (inexistent). At the end of last year's season we thought that no one was going to fill the gap that the graduating seniors left, but PUMPKIN MAX came to the rescue!!! We're looking forward to Max's continued success on the team. Don't miss your chance of seeing him score 17 goals against Georgetown this weekend!

Great picture from last week's practice! Not sure why Noaman Madibbo was using two mallets, is that how they play polo in Sudan?? Anyway, stay tuned for more picture and updates ahead of the Georgetown Cup! #RaiseHigh #SupportPolo

Polo is a sport that is steeped in tradition and we believe that GW Polo Club’s logo should reflect that tradition as well as our University’s traditions.

The Colonial Coat of Arms is a unique symbol of GW’s heritage. It was presented to the University at GW’s 1997 Commencement ceremony. It was based on the Coat of Arms of George Washington and the University’s colours. The unusual form of the bars suggests the form of an open book, and the mullets (stars) are rearranged to lie vertically down the centre instead of horizontally across the chief (top).

The new logo for the GW Polo Club includes the Coat of Arms of the University. This makes the Polo team one of the first organizations, if not the first, organization to recognize and utilize this symbol of the heritage of GW. The GW logo is placed on the top of the shield in a separate blue segment preserving the integrity of the GW Coat of Arms as well as using the University’s modern logo. The banner below the shield bears the University’s motto. The Crossed mallets behind the shield associate the logo to the King of Sports.

Special thanks to Alexander Horan & John Catsimatidis.
