Happy March Friends! We live in Illinois and are looking for programs that will help pay to convert our van to a wheelchair van or programs that will do it for us at little or no charge. We had a wheelchair van and it went out on us, but it was super old, 1993. My step son's mom already raised money for a wheelchair van recently for her home using "Go Fund Me," so I am not comfortable having another fundraiser for this need. Several people I know donated to his cause. Unfortunately, she will not allow his dad to use the van when he is with us (4 nights a week and over the weekend). We just borrowed funds to buy the van we have now, so our next step is to convert it. Thanks for your help in advance!
My first symptoms of ALS occurred in 2011, but was diagnosed in 2013. I had severe symptoms ranging from shortness of breath, balance problems, couldn't walk without a walker or a power chair, i had difficulty swallowing and fatigue. I was given medications which helped but only for a short burst of time, then i decided to try alternative measures and began on ALS Formula treatment from Akanni herbal centre t, It has made a tremendous difference for me (Visit www. akanniherbalcentre .com). I had improved walking balance, increased appetite, muscle strength, improved eyesight and others.
Hello! Where do you go or who do you contact to have a regular van converted into a wheelchair van? Thanks in advance!

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.

We want to take this opportunity to wish Mike Bush KSDK a very happy 35th Anniversary with KSDK!

Mike has been an amazing MDA advocate over the years through his work hosting our local Telethon, engaging with our campers at MDA Summer Camp, and attending events throughout the year such as our Muscle Team Bash and Muscle Walks. Not only does Mike have a true heart and passion for our families, but he continues to serve our entire community every day.

Join us in thanking Mike Bush for all that he has done for this wonderful city that we call home. Happy Anniversary!

I’m writing today to say thank you.
I remember driving to work on my first day at KSDK and how nervous I was. Would St. Louis accept me? Would my colleagues? Would I still be making this drive after my short two year contract was up?
Well, that was 35 years ago today and I am still making the drive! And it’s all thanks to you. You have been nice enough to invite me into your living rooms all these years , despite all my flaws. I have been so lucky to meet so many amazing people and to tell their stories. It’s been the greatest honor of my life. And I am especially grateful to my colleagues both past and present. If not for their talents, counsel and generosity, I don’t know where I’d be. Despite all our challenges, St. Louis is a special place.
So, thank you again for 35 years. Where did the time go?

We know the current pandemic has left all of us wondering about what the future holds for the neuromuscular disease community, especially the impacts on the medical products the community relies on. That's why we're pleased to announce the next session of the MDA Advocacy Institute: A COVID-19 Discussion with the FDA on June 8th at 4pm ET.
MDA and Dr. Anand Shah, M.D., FDA Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs, will be answering your questions on how the Agency is adapting to these uncertain times and its effects on the neuromuscular disease community.
Join the conversation by submitting your question to the FDA now! Topics we will be covering include:
• Supply shortages of medical products caused by COVID-19
• Effects on ongoing clinical trials in neuromuscular diseases
• FDA's use of emergency powers to respond to COVID-19
• Delays in research and development of new products for neuromuscular diseases
• FDA's approach towards high-risk communities
By law, the FDA cannot answer questions pertaining to a specific product or clinical trial, so please do not submit questions of this nature. We will do our best to cover as many questions as possible during the live discussion, however we may not be able to answer them all. Please submit your questions by May 26th to ensure consideration for the discussion.
