Great Beginnings Preschool - Leesburg United Methodist Church

I cannot express urgently enough how our attitudes rub off onto our children. I have seen this in a lifetime of working with children, most recently in political turmoil and accusations (both sides) and then fear in the pandemic's buildup before our quarantine mid March. As Christians we love God and love and care for others, all others. Read Psalms and New Testament stories of hope and forgiveness, and Bible stories and songs of praise and hope. Endure. Love. Be a positive example for all, and most particularly, for our children.
So excited to start KinderCamp this week! The binder looks awesome! Heather Gonzalez

Hi, I've been trying to get in touch with someone from the preschool for over a week now. I've called and emailed twice. Additional suggestions would be appreciated...

We offer a warm, caring preschool program for children ages 2-5 from 9:00AM-12:00PM. As a mission of Leesburg United Methodist Church we have provided a warm, caring and nurturing preschool program for the children of our community for over 50 years.

We recognize that children learn best when they are given opportunities to discover, explore and problem solve through direct experience. We emphasize Christian concepts and a developmental curriculum to enhance physical and intellectual growth and prepare children for kindergarten.

Our sprout is really taking off!!

Here is a great recap of last nights School Board meeting. GBP’s committee and staff are working on our options for the 2020-2021 school year, more info to come!

➡️ The longer resolution was passed for a choice of Hybrid Learning or 100 % Distance Learning, with amendments (to increase synchronous, but not asynchronous, learning over the amount offered in the spring, and to require ALL students to wear face coverings when six feet of physical distance cannot be maintained).

💻 Parents and Staff will choose hybrid or distance learning for the first semester through Parentvue from July 6-10.

➡️ Students will not start school until September 8th with teachers returning on August 19th, which should not impact the end date. Review the calendar attached to this post.

➡️ The Loudoun County High School Mascot will be changed. The LCHS Community will be engaged for further discussion.

➡️ HILLSBORO CHARTER: Discussion about their 100% in person option (12 classes with 12 students with 6' physical distancing) will be discussed at the next meeting on July 21.

➡️ MARK YOUR CALENDARS ... Loudoun County Public Schools will be holding a virtual town hall on 7/8/2020 from 5:30-7pm. (Details TBD).

Over the years I've removed some big hives. I even had one go viral, "Holy Huge Comb," a couple of years ago. Monday I removed the largest hive I've come across. Coming in at over 30 feet of combs, this was the big one.
