It is with mixed emotions that we post this notice. It has been our privilege to provide care to you over the past 10 years, but it is now time for another phase in our lives. We will be relocating to Texas to be near our family and have decided to close our pharmacy.

Saturday, October 22, 2016 will be the last day our store is open. Starting on Monday, October 24, 2016, all customer files will be transferred to The Compounding Center in Leesburg. Cereal is such an easy breakfast, but can also be high in sugar and low in nutrients. I made this muesli cereal while doing the Candida diet and loved it! It was tasty and kept me full! This makes about 4 servings. Enjoy - Kati

Here's what you need:
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 nutmeg
- pinch of salt

- mix all the ingredients in a bowl and store in an air tight container.
- to eat: combine 1/2 cup of muesli and 1/2 cup almond milk. (You can also soak over night.)
- enjoy!

Recipe from

Another Great Recipe From Our Health Coach!

I love when a meal is tasty and so easy. It's the best of both worlds.
This salmon fits the bill on both counts! It's important to get wild caught salmon instead of farmed. I have a hard time finding it fresh sometimes. If you can't find any try the freezer section. I like to get mine from Trader Joe. - Kati

What you need:
- 1 lb of salmon, which is about 14 ounces.
- 1/4 cup Bragg's liquid aminos
- salt & pepper

1. Preheat oven to 425*
2. If your fish is frozen be sure to pull it out the night before.
3. In a ziplock bag carefully place the fish, the liquid aminos, and pepper.
4. Make sure to seal tight and marinate in the fridge for a few hours.
5. Bake for 12 minutes. (Adjust based on how well done you like your fish)
6. Enjoy!

Yes! A Whole Chicken Cooked in the Crockpot!

I love making a whole chicken, there are so many ways to use the leftovers! I normally roast them in the oven, but after coming home to this I've reconsidered ever roasting a whole chicken in the oven again! - Kati

Here's what you need:
- 1 whole chicken (size depends on your crockpot)
- 4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1. Take the giblets out of the chicken.
2. Mix the spices together and rub all over the chicken. (Optional: put the chicken in a bag and let marinate in the fridge for a few hours first.)
3. Place the chicken in the crock pot on low for 4-5 hours. (Every crockpot cooks a little differently so adjust cooking time according to yours.)
4. Enjoy it!

When starting the Candida cleanse I knew stuffed peppers would be a great meal because of how tasty and filling they are. They also make awesome leftovers! There are so many ways to make them that making them candida friendly wasn't hard at all.

Here's what you'll need:
- 3 cups of cooked quinoa
- 6 peppers
- 1 lb of ground turkey (or beef)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bag of green beans
- 1/4 cup shaved almonds
- 2 tsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- salt & pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Steam and chop the green beans. (It's okay if they're a bit crunchy)
3. Sauté the onion in a large pan.
4. Once the onion is soft, add the ground turkey and saute until just cooked through then mix in the green beans, cooked quinoa, almonds and spices.
5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
6. Cut the tops off of all the peppers and scoop out the insides.
7. Boil the peppers in the water for 3-5 minutes.
8. Carefully take them out and place them in a baking pan.
9. Scoop the quinoa into the peppers and bake for 20 minutes.
10. Serve and enjoy!

Have a Snack!

During the candida eating plan snacking can be hard. One of my favorite snacks for "on the go" is nuts and seeds. I've really enjoyed making my own trail mixes. If you're already eating a lot of almond butter you want to be careful not to over due it. While almonds and other nuts are good for you, anything in excess can be bad. Here's one of my favorite combinations! Hope you enjoy it, too - Kati!

- raw almonds
- raw pumpkin seeds
- salted sunflower seeds

Candida Friendly Tastes Great!!!

This meal was a HUGE hit in my house. It was easy and great to make in bulk. My husband and I were more than happy to have a few meals out of it. The nice thing about this is you can use whatever vegetables you want and have in the fridge! I wanted the meal to be colorful, because colorful food just tastes better to me. 😊 This meal is good on it's own or served over quinoa! Enjoy! - Kati

Here's what you need:
- 4 chicken thighs, cut into small pieces
- 1 red pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow pepper, sliced
- 1 orange pepper, sliced
- 1 zucchini, sliced
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 large handful of spinach
- 1 or 2 cans of coconut milk (depending on how much sauce you want)
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 2 table spoons of yellow curry powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1. In a large pan on medium heat cook the chicken in the coconut oil until mostly done.
2. Add the peppers, zucchini and onion and cook until soft.
3. Add the coconut milk and spices and let simmer on low heat.
4. Add the spinach and extra coconut milk if desired.
5. Serve and enjoy!

Breakfast Is Served!!!

I am a big fan of pancakes! Being able to eat these on a Saturday morning was just what I needed! I love when yummy food is good for you and loaded with protein to keep you full! These pancakes are good plain or loaded with berries! - Kati

What you need:
- 1 3/4 cup almond flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- cup of strawberries
- 1/3 cup of blueberries (optional)

1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract and almond milk.
2. Add the almond flour, baking powder and salt and mix until smooth.
3. Heat a large skillet and drizzle with cooking oil.
4. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto skillet, drop a few blueberries into batter if desired.
5. After a few minutes flip until completely cooked.

Strawberry sauce:
1. In a blender or food processor, blend the strawberries for a few seconds. (We found that leaving them chunky was better)
2. In a small sauce pan heat the strawberries on a medium heat for 5 minutes.
3. Drizzle (or pour) over pancakes and enjoy!

[04/11/16]   Do Your Research Before Trying New "Health Trends"

Oil pulling became huge in the health world a few years ago. All the articles I read about it back then promised big results. A friend and I tried it for a few days but gave up because oil pulling is no quick fix. I have also been guilty of following trends. It's so easy to read one article and then hop onboard. There are so many detox's that promise big results. The funny thing about them is you hear about them for a few months and then there's a new one. I write all this to warn and encourage you to do your research before jumping onboard.

I recently saw an article on Pinterest about detoxing through your feet, by wearing adhesive pads. You could make your own or buy them. I looked at the ingredients and starting planning my next seven nights of detoxing. Luckily I've learned from the past and decided to do some research. The promise of detoxing heavy metals was quickly squashed in article after article. It wouldn't have been a bad thing to do, but it would not be helping my body the way I thought it would.

While I was doing research I found myself back to oil pulling. Although my research has changed my thoughts on it detoxing my whole body, I am happy to say that it is good for your oral health. Especially by using coconut oil because it's antibacterial. Oil pulling is good for your gum health and can help break down plaque. I was especially interested to learn it can also help fight candida. It helps get rid of oral thrush (the thick white coating on the tongue) as well as getting rid of toxins from candida die-off. - Kati

Need A Simple, Tasty Week-Night Meal?

The best thing about this meal is that you can add whatever you have in the fridge! It's simple and tastes amazing! I made a hug pot of it and froze half for the next week! I call it my clean eating, gluten-free version of Hamburger Helper!

2. Steam the green beans and then chop into bite-size pieces.
3. Put the beef, quinoa and beans into pot.

Another "Cook Once Eat Twice" Success

This omelet was amazing! It was very flavorful and satisfying on so many levels! My husband and I woke up feeling famished and crushed this 6 egg omelet. (I don't recommend doing that to often.) My favorite part was that we filled it with ratatouille from the night before! I'm always looking for ways to cook once and eat twice! - Kati

What you need:
- 6 eggs
- 1 tablespoon almond milk
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup ratatouille
- cooking oil

1. We blended the eggs and milk in our Nutribullet to make them extra fluffy.
2. Cook the eggs on medium heat in a well oiled pan.
3. Smooth the yogurt and ratatouille on one side before folding it in half.
4. Serve and enjoy! (I promise you will!)

[03/25/16]   Overcoming The "I Can't Eat Anything Normal" Feelings

There are points during the candida eating plan that you can start to feel restricted. It’s especially hard when you go out to eat or are at a party. Hopefully the recipes that have been posted have given you ideas for eating well at home, but it’s important to also have a plan when you go out. Eating out can be hard because you don’t know exactly what they put in things, so use your discretion.

1. Starbucks - They have lots of herbal teas. My personal favorite is the herbal chia with steamed coconut milk! In the summer I like to get an iced passion tea.
2. Eating out
- At a Chipotle type place you can always get a salad with chicken, tomatoes, guacamole and cilantro! Yum!
- You can always get a steak, or grilled chicken with steamed vegetables.
- Order a salad with grilled chicken and lots of fresh veggies. You can always use oil and a squeeze of lemon for the dressing.
3. At an event - Focus on what you can have instead of counting all the things that you can’t. If you’re at a birthday party where they are serving cake and ice-cream, bring your own! "SO Delicious Dairy Free” makes a coconut milk no sugar added chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It only has 1g of sugar and is super tasty!

Look for things you enjoy. It’s easy to feel restricted and day dream about the foods you wish you could eat. My goal is that at the end of the six weeks I will have found things that I enjoy and that I will continue to eat. I hope the same for you!

Ratatouille For Dinner

This meal made both me and my husband very happy! It's so flavorful, and with all the different veggies it's quite filling! We ate this as our meal, but it would also make a good side.

I chopped all the vegetables in the morning so that it would be a quick meal that evening. Keep them separate in sealed bags or covered bowls in the refrigerator. - Kati

What you need:
- 1 egg plant, chopped,
- 2 green peppers, chopped
- 2 zucchini, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon thyme

1. Start with the onion and and peppers in a large skillet. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until the onions are soft and clear.
2. Add the zucchini and eggplant.
3. Add the tomatoes after the other vegetables become tender.
4. Add the seasonings and let the pan simmer until the veggies are done to your liking.
5. Serve and enjoy!

Yum, yum, yum!
