After going through training on the "exchange," getting quotes over the last few weeks for my clients...looking at the headlines and news these days on the ACA, regardless of your view of the rightness or wrongness of healthcare reform, we can confirm one thing with absolute certainty:
The people who wrote this law, promoted it, and continue to defend it know EVEN LESS about health insurance than they do about websites.
If you want to know how insurance ACTUALLY works, please stay as far away from "navigators" and policy makers as you possibly can...and call a licensed insurance agent that you trust. Your fiscal and physical well-being may depend on it.

Hello all of you wonderful supporters! We are just amazed at the outpouring of community support! WOW!!!! Never would have thought our community would show this level of sincere care and gratitude for "their beach bar!" We have reached over 1100 signatures and they keep coming in! We are so grateful that so many folks are taking the time to cast their "vote" to keep the beach and also making the wonderful comments.....Keep it coming! We were able to have the Town attorney schedule a special Town Ordinance Amendment hearing (public) next Tuesday, July 9th! It looks positive as most of the Town staff are on board with Save Our Beach! But the ultimate decision rests with the Town Council.....so stay tuned as we are going to try to show them beforehand how important it is for our community....our Town, to keep this little venue alive!
Again, thank you all for your incredible support and we'll keep you informed how things are progressing.....!!!
Let me get this straight. Premiums are jacked up by 25% because of the ACA, meaning between up to a couple hundred dollars a MONTH in extra costs to families, but we're going to brag on the fact that we've forced insurance companies to send us back about $100 a YEAR.
Sure. Yeah. I get it. Makes perfect sense.

"Holidays with the Cops Program" in Leesburg, VA
Leesburg Police Department and Parks & Recreation’s R.O.C.K. Program Sponsor “Holidays With The Cops” Again This Year
Donations gladly accepted to increase the number of children who can participate
During the first week of December, the Leesburg Police Department, in partnership with the Leesburg Parks & Recreation Department’s R.O.C.K. Program, will make this Christmas a little brighter for some of Leesburg’s neediest children.
Each child who participates will be paired up with a uniformed Leesburg police officer and will be given $200 to spend on Christmas gifts. “Holiday With The Cops” will start with dinner for the children and their “shopping buddies” at the Leesburg Police Department. After dinner, the police officers will escort the children to Target, where they will be able to shop to their hearts’ content. In the past, many children have purchased gifts for family members and necessary household items. One child even bought a Christmas tree for his family! Once the children have finished their shopping, volunteers from Leesburg Police Explorer Post # 1041 and Leesburg Police Citizen Support Team as well as Leesburg Police Department dispatchers and staff will help the children wrap their gifts. Members from the Leesburg National Guard Armory will then help transport all the gifts home for the kids.
“Holidays With The Cops is made possible only through the generous contributions of Leesburg businesses and residents. Last year, we expected to raise enough money to take five children shopping,” explained Master Police Officer Chris Tidmore. “Community support was so strong that we were able to take ten kids. This year, we’re hoping to increase that number to at least twelve.”
Donations to the Holidays With The Cops program are tax deductible and can be made by cash, check or PayPal. Checks should be made out to the “Leesburg Police Citizen Support Team” and can be dropped off or mailed to the Leesburg Police Department at 65 Plaza Street NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 (Attention: MPO Chris Tidmore). To make a donation by PayPal, go to www.paypal.com and send a payment to “[email protected]”.
Business sponsors for the 2012 Holidays With The Cops program include Best Buy, Target, La Villa Roma and Palio Ristorante Italiano . Businesses interested in supporting Holidays With The Cops with in-kind or monetary donations should contact MPO Tidmore at 703-771-4564 or [email protected].
