I know class online is hard for everyone, but it is better then nothing. We will continue to send videos of Mariana doing the steps. We are working on dances for our recital (whenever we get to have it) so we don’t want anyone getting behind. Encourage your dancers to speak up and ask questions if they are struggling with something. You could also videotape them doing the dance to send to me for corrections. I’m also open to suggestions of what might help your dancer. This isn’t forever, we will get through it and be better and stronger for it. Hang in there 🙂

healthy-holistic-living.com It is time to get up and shake your groove thing for your brain!
The recital is still a go for this evening!
It looks like the temperature will be above freezing all day and start to rise into the 40’s around 3pm. So it should just be wet not icy, yeah!
You start by taking your child to dance class as something to fill an hour of their week and give them an outlet for their energy. They come home from class and continue to hop, skip and jump around the house- asking every day there after "do I go to dancing today?"
Next thing you know, you're complaining about hours spent driving back and forth to the class, the later-than-you'd-like classes (on a school night?!), time sitting and waiting for classes to end when you have a million other places to be, and don't even get me started on the money- fees, shoes, dresses, shoes, feiseanna, shoes.
Did I mention shoes?
You fret and worry that a "normal" childhood is passing them by. Family holidays are planned around summer workshops.
But before you know it, they have gone to their last dance class and discarded their last pair of shoes and it's all over too soon.
And when it's all over it’s the gifts that dance has given them that they will thank you for: the ability to prioritise and multi-task, a strong, flexible body, the ability to handle pressure and last minute changes. You will be grateful you are sending your child out into the world with a strong work ethic and a long attention span.
You will have a great sense of peace knowing your children are part of a strong circle of young people equally capable of lifting one another up when the road is rough, as they are at celebrating one another's triumphs.
In the end, you can pat yourself on the back because taking them to that first dance class was one of the best parenting decisions you made.
