Today is Rosie’s 5th birthday! She would not be here to celebrate with us if it weren’t for Dr. Miller and her staff! Thank you so much for saving our precious girl. 💕
New to Town – Need a Veterinarian Town Hall is now preparing Welcome Kits for new families that are moving into our community. Our Welcome Kits feature and direct these new families to a small number of local businesses for the goods, services & professionals that they need to find. Since our Welcome Kits are exclusive, and we can only accommodate one Veterinarian, I would ask you to kindly let me know if you are interested in being the featured Veterinarian in our local Welcome Kits. It is worthy to note that, according to Dr. Cathy Goodwin in her book “Making the Big Move”, 55% of new residents and families seek out a new Veterinarian shortly after their relocation. As such, more than one-half of our Welcome Kit recipients are actively looking for a new Vet. I would like to schedule a time when you are expecting me so that I may drop off a sample of our "Welcome Kit" and explain the program in greater detail. Please reply to this email with your availability or call me at your earliest convenience. For a faster response, or if you prefer, feel free to text me on my cell which is listed in my signature. Thanks. Karla Cain (540) 664-5514

Stitch is just the cutest!!! He loves everyone 😂❤️

This is KC, a little yorkiepoo we got to meet last week when she was hospitalized with the emergency department and needing a consult with an internist. KC was diagnosed with anemia/thrombocytopenia/neutropenia and suspect immune mediated pancytopenia. Her neutropenia has improved and we are awaiting her bloodwork results today from her recheck. She quickly stole our hearts, she’s the sweetest girl!

[05/19/20]   Hello all, Happy Tuesday! We will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Please reach out for any refills this week with at least a 24 hour notice. 🙂 Thank you!

Jake is such a handsome boy! 🐾 he sees Dr. Miller to manage his nasal disease, which he seems to have adequate control of due to his medication regimen! ❤️ We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these trying times!

Look how cute this kitten is!! Church was seen today for lack of weight gain and he is now on a regimen to gain weight and reevaluate. He loved hiding behind his technicians computer ❤️

Happy Valentine’s Day!! ❤️

“This is Isabella “Izzy” Hutchison. She has been a patient of Dr. Justin for over 3 years. She was a birthday gift to me from my husband. When we met her and her sisters I was over whelmed because she was from a litter of 9 girls, all Black and Tan. I jokingly asked the teenage daughter of the breeder which was the best puppy. She picked one up and said this one because she just loves to be held and snuggled. I took her into my arms and as she melted against my chest I knew she was meant to be my Isabella! From a tiny 1.2 pounds to her current “giant” 8lbs she has always spent most of her time in my arms. She is the only dog I have ever had who just loves to be held like a baby and rocked😂
We are so grateful to Dr Justin and his team for doing their best to keep Izzy healthy and give us as much time together as possible!
The top photos show Izzy when she first came home and the bottom photos show her now!”

Zoey knows how much she is loved! ❤️

“Zoey came into my life in 2012 when I adopted her from Briggs Animal Adoption Center. She was 3 years old and came to me while she was being treated for Lyme disease and worms, and her skin had sore spots where her previously matted fur had been pulling too tightly. I fell in love with her at first sight, and she made my house a home. Despite her past, she is the best little dog with such a big personality! We became a part of the Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine family in November 2018 after Zoey was diagnosed with severe thrombocytopenia and almost lost her life from the internal bleeding. Thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses of The LifeCentre emergency department, ICU, and Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine, Zoey got her third chance at life and is thriving today! Zoey is no longer on medications for the thrombocytopenia and recently graduated from LVIM in January. She turns 11 years old on February 21st. ❤️” #valentines

Meet Cindy Fike, pictured here with one of her Internal Medicine patients. She has been here at The LifeCentre since 2012 where she began working as an ER technician. In 2014 she transferred to the Internal Medicine department because it offered her the opportunity to work more intimately with clients and patients and their specific disease processes. Cindy has been a team lead for Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine since 2017. Cindy enjoys both dogs and cats, but has a special place in her heart for senior cats. Along with building relationships with internal medicine clients and patients, Cindy enjoys working with fearful animals and helping them through their visit with internal medicine. She was FearFree certified in 2018 in hopes to be able to help more animals feel comfortable at the vet, as well as help her fellow technicians better understand fearful animals in the hospital. At home, Cindy lives with her human family, as well as Olive, her cat, Chip, her horse, and a few steers. Olive was a foster "fail" - Cindy thought she would rehab her post spay and limb amputation. When she's not helping scope internal organs, Cindy enjoys running, being outside, and hanging out with her family.

Dr. Justin performing an outpatient ultrasound this morning. Did you know, If your primary vet is recommending just an ultrasound they can refer your pet to us for an outpatient ultrasound when a consultation is not needed. The ultrasound would be performed and the report would be sent directly to your primary veterinarian.
