December is home to National Hand Washing Awareness Week, and with winter fast approaching and #COVID still impacting our communities so greatly, there is no better time to remember to wash your hands often (and wear a mask and social distance)! #LoveYourNeighbor

Suzanne Edwards, Regional Director Catholic Charities Lake City is so cute with her Orange Plastic Spoon showing support for our corporate partner Cheeky™ – which makes colorful plastic cutlery. Thank you Cheeky for your support. 💓 If you don’t know about Cheeky - Let us introduce you!

Cheeky is one of the latest and most successful examples of social entrepreneurship or philanthropic capitalism. Giving back is embedded in the company’s DNA. For every packet of paper or plastic plates, bowls, napkins or cutlery purchased, 10 cents goes to Feeding America, the country’s largest hunger relief organization, which redistributes donated food from manufacturers, grocery stores, packers and growers to food banks across the country. Those 10 cents cover the cost of getting one meal to a person in need.

The coldest months are in front of us. ❄️January and February. Right now if each of us, who is comfortably employed, gave an extra 1% of our income to the non-profits who are caring for our neighbors in need, this could have a huge impact. Please consider Catholic Charities Lake City as one of your non-profits. We care for your neighbors and friends in need. How can you give? It’s easy!
