We are SO happy to see Bingo has such a great opportunity to stand out as the awesome pup that he is! From everyone at Hawaii Rainbow Rangers, a huge congratulations to Bingo and his new family! Bingo set the standard for the great results that come from working together, Mahalo to our friends at Hawaii Island Humane Society!
BINGO IS HOME! 🙌🏼✨ Bingo has quite the story to tell and has been methodically stealing hearts islandwide... and now, finally, he found his very own forever family! Once upon a time, Bingo had a bit of a ... reputation. 😬 He had a tendency to stray and became acquainted with our animal control officers. He was a familiar face at our Keaau shelter. A few months ago, we saw that he was surrendered to the Hawaii Rainbow Rangers. We reached out to them to see if we could help HRR by opening up a kennel at their shelter and help Bingo by bringing him into our care and getting to know him. Since welcoming Bingo, we learned that he is SUCH A GOOD BOY! He quickly became the ⭐️ star ⭐️of playgroup ... best friend to all of the other shelter doggos! It was easy to see why he caught Ashley’s attention. Last Saturday, they came to meet him and brought him home as part of our Foster to Adopt program. And today, less than 1 week later, they made it official! Bingo is now ADOPTED! 🎉 Bingo not only gets two loving forever parents, but also a canine brother named Oli who is embracing his role as “big brother” to Bingo. Happy life. Bingo! 🤙🏼❤️ #adopted
Swipe to see Bingo’s life in his new home, some happy memories from his time at the shelter, and the day we picked him up from HRR! Special thanks to Bingo’s family for choosing adoption and thanks to the Hawaii Rainbow Rangers (especially Nick!) for helping us help Bingo. We have so many amazing dogs like Bingo who are waiting for their happily ever after and that forever kind of love. Check out all of our adoptable pets at hihs.org
Our friends over at Three Rings Ranch are hosting an "Eggsellent Event" to support the amazing work that they do for all critters in our community! Head on over to their page and vote on your favorite art creations or participate in their auction.
If you mention that you saw the event from Hawaii Rainbow Rangers, we'll reduce Aussie's adoption fee by $1! Kea and Ku’e are a bonded sister pair at the HRR shelter in Kona. ❤️🧡
They have good manners (don’t jump on people for example), but definitely had the zoomies once let out of their kennel! Those girls loved to run and play with each other...they would run like the dickens, but stop and check in with each other and then flop in the pool.
Owning these two would be a delight; their bond is enjoyable to observe, and their presence would be a positive addition to a lucky person’s life!
If you have space in your home and heart for these two sisters, please call 731-5334, or visit https://www.hirangers.org/adoption-appointments to meet them. ❤️🧡
PC: Thanks again to our wonderful volunteers who do such an amazing job at capturing our adoptable dogs on camera. Their photos truly make these pups stand out 🐾😊 speaking of amazing volunteers...if you are interested in joining our volunteer team please fill out an application on our website🤙🏼
Meet Rosie! Rosie is a well mannered and sweet girl who just wants to be your friend. She gets along with just about anyone and everyone! We think she would do best in a home with no other dogs as she likes to have all the attention on her. Rosie has truly won the hearts of our volunteers and staff and we would love to see her find her FURever home. To meet Rosie please visit our website at Hirangers.org, or you can stop by our facility anytime during the week from 11AM-5PM (closed on Tuesdays). Mahalo!
Let me tell you about Brugo:
•he is 5 years old 🐕
•he is about 75 pounds 😮
•he is probably St Bernard/Sharpei 🐾
•he is CHILL, calm, well mannered 🙌🏼
•does great with other dogs, barks at cats (maybe has never seen one before) 👀
He is at the Hawaii Rainbow Rangers shelter and it’s crazy he hasn’t been adopted yet! He’s the best boy 😍

PC: Big shoutout to our amazing volunteers who capture these beautiful photos that help to get our dogs adopted. We are truly so thankful for all of the wonderful work they do!
Boss Man found his FURever home! We are so happy to hear that Boss is settling in well to his new home. Boss came to our shelter a little over a month ago as an owner surrender. He didn't do well in the kennels with the other dogs so the staff at HRR spoiled him and made him his own "doggy condo" in our front office. He truly stole the hearts of each and every one of our staff members. We are so happy for Boss and his new family!

To continue providing the community updates about the status of Hawaii Rainbow Rangers we want to share this press release.
An extension has been requested of the County of Hawaii to allow HRR to continue developing and expanding services, including but not limited to the two new facilities on the east and north parts of the Island.
Most importantly however, even during the extended interim services period we will continue expanding services and availability.
We highly recommend continuing to stay up to date on all of the changes on the HiRangers.org website.
Ever wanted to know a good way to both recycle and help the animals currently in our care? Newspaper that’s how!
We are always in need of newspaper for our cat population. So next time your on your way to drop off your recycling stop by and drop off your newspaper to HRR.
Meet Jellybean! Jellybean is a very special kitty who has cerebellar hypoplasia. CH is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual. This mostly means that he is uncoordinated when walking and sways from side to side. But this certainly has no effect on his sweet and loving personality. Jellybean loves to snuggle and play and would make the perfect edition to any household! Jellybean is located at our Kona facility. To meet him please call our office at 808-731-5334 to make an appointment.
Did someone say KITTENS ?!😍🐱🐾 We are still seeking more kitten fosters to help house these cute little ones. We provide all supplies as well as support to help you get started. If you are interested in joining our foster program you can apply at https://www.hirangers.org/copy-of-volunteer 🌈🐾

To meet Rufus, call our office at (808)731-5334 to schedule an appointment. Mahalo 🐾🐱🌈

Charlie, a male 60 pound red nose pittie, is available for adoption. He came in very timid but has come out of his shell at the shelter. I think he would do best in a quiet home where he can continue to gain confidence. Did you know it's Amazon Prime Day!
There are a lot of items HRR regularly needs to keep our pets healthy, happy, and safe and this is a great way to donate and know your donation will go immediately into action. We hope you can take a few minutes to check out our wish list and take advantage of some of those great Prime Day deals!
This week is national Veterinary Technician appreciation week!
The profession of animal welfare is well...hard. There are few that personify the fortitude and caring as much as those who day in and day out provide love and unwavering care to animals in need like our veterinary techs. They are a strong and resilient backbone that keep shelters, vet clinics, and agencies afloat.
Because of that us at Hawaii Rainbow Rangers want to extend a true and heartfelt thank you to our Shelter Manager Samantha Martinez who has refused to be anything but the best vet tech for HRR and the animals in our care.
So if you have the chance, thank a tech, and a vet, and all of those who do whatever needs to be done to help those in need get just a little bit better every day!

Adopt a Dog Kona
Sky is available for adoption. She is a 60 pound Catahoula Shepherd mix around 5 years old. Every time I see her I’m torn between singing “Betty Davis eyes” and “Turn around bright eyes”. She is good on a leash after she has a chance to burn off that energy running around the dog park. Go to the website and click that adopt button!
These two Sweeties, Nala and Claws, both girls, need a home, hopefully together, ASAP. They are bonded and just lost their human, due to a move to the mainland. Please help us to home them!! 🌈💖🙏❤️😻
