Transformed Furniture

Making vintage furniture beautiful! email....[email protected]

Shabby chic style, transformed, repurposed whatever you call it, this style furniture is very in style as well as very eco friendly. Actually, when you look back through old decorating magaiznes, you will see this "distressed" "antiqued" painted furniture style has been "in" for a long time. Without a doubt, it is going to continue to be popular for a long, long time because quite frankly, it is just pretty! It brings us great joy to take old or cast aside pieces of furniture, lovingly paint and restore them so they can be beautiful and be loved again. It is kind of like we feel God does us. He takes our old, ugly, selfish nature and “transforms” us by His love and mercy. When He looks at us, He does not see us as we are but as He knows we can be. That is the way we do with our furniture! When we find a piece of furniture, we don’t see the scratches or scars of the past life, we visualize it “transformed”-how it WILL be… new and beautiful! Instead of throwing away a perfectly usable piece of furniture, we give it new life, new beauty. We love "transforming" and hope you will enjoy looking at and owning our pieces. If there is something special you are looking for, it would be our pleasure to try to help you find it. We love what we do and we look forward to helping you transform your home with some of our unique, one of a kind vintage pieces Thank you for visiting us! Let us know if we can be of help to you! [email protected] We are in the Hoover, AL area. (Please be mindful that these are reclaimed pieces so they may not be perfect. We make them beautiful but sometimes, part of their character and beauty lies in the dings or dents that show they have had a previous life.) “Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but Let God TRANSFORM you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God--what is good and pleasing to Him.” --Romans 12:2

[01/02/15]   Wishing everyone health and happiness in 2015!

[12/25/14]   As we open our packages, eat our wonderful meals and sit in our warm homes surrounded by those we love, may we take a moment to be thankful. May we be mindful that Christmas is not really about material things at all. We sometimes get so caught up in shopping, buying and wrapping that we forget. We forget that Christmas is about a child born in a manager Who came to save us from our sins. It is about God's gift to us because He loved us so very much. So while we enjoy our gifts and all the fun let's also purpose to keep in mind the real meaning of Christmas and to keep the true spirit of Christmas going each day. Not just Dec. 25, but everyday let's try to give "something" to others...a smile, a kind word, a helping hand, love. Those things don't cost money but sometimes they can be more precious than gold.

We wish you all a most blessed and wonderful Christmas.

[11/11/14]   There are many problems within our country, we are far from perfect. We need to make changes on lots of levels. But...I thank God Almighty for allowing me to be born here in this land where I am free.

It is through the Grace of God along with the many sacrifices that have been made and are being made by our servicemen and women that we continue to enjoy our freedom. I am grateful.

Thank you to each who has served, to those who are serving now around the world, and to their families. It is not a small gift you have given, you give your all. I honor you.

May God truly bless our nation. And may God bless and keep safe those who are serving it.

[10/06/14]   Those of you who know me know how much I love animals, especially dogs. So many animals die every single day all because no one wants them and because we as humans don't always do our part to spay/neuter to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens. It is heartbreaking.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month, so if you're planning to add a four-legged family member to your household, I certainly hope you'll consider opening your home to a dog who doesn't have one. For those of you who love cats, please get them from a shelter. You will literally save their life and they will reward you with more unconditional love and appreciation than you can imagine.

If you want a certain breed dog, please get a dog from a breed rescue group. You can look up any breed on and find rescue groups associated with that breed. They will have animals of all ages, male, female. Yes, rescue groups require an adoption fee but that covers a complete vet check up, all shots, tests, etc. to assure you get a healthy pet as much as possible.

Please don't buy a pet from a pet store. That encourages "mills' where the animals are kept in deplorable conditions, poorly fed and usually mistreated only to be bred over and over again regardless of their health. A mother dog that is not properly nourished and cared for only produces puppies that are more likely to have health problems, deformities, etc.

So, please adopt a pet if possible and if you see an animal being neglected or mistreated, contact the Humane Society or rescue group for help.

Thanks for listening!!

[10/02/14]   The dresser in the cover photo is SOLD.THANKS!

Sometimes when you paint furniture, you run across a piece you like so well you REALLY want to keep it for yourself. That is very much the case with this absolutely gorgeous dresser I am posting. If I had room for it (and believe me I have tried to figure it out!) I would keep it. I LOVE this piece! Hope you will like it too!

[09/28/14]   The French Provincial Chest is SOLD. THANKS LAURA!

We have a very pretty French Provencial Chest available. It is very pretty in soft, tones. It would look lovely in any bedroom, nursery or master bath. The paint color is not a creamy yellow tone, it is more like a soft linen or oatmeal with brown glaze. Very pretty and elegant!

[09/22/14]   The dresser in the cover photo and matching armoire are SOLD.

it is always so special when people send pictures of the pieces they buy so we can see how they are using them. A very special friend who bought the blue dresser that was posted below sent us a picture of it in her den. It looks GREAT! Thanks Cindy for sharing it with us!

Now for the matching armoire....these pieces would be gorgeousin a master bedroom, or think of this...the dresser in the master bedroom and matching armoire in the master bath for towels and linens and things. Wouldn't that be beautiful??

Here are some pictures of the French Provencial dresser and armoire. These pieces are fantastic! Totally very much detail. Talk about making a statement!!!

All done with these dressers! They are both SOLD but I wanted you all to see how pretty they are! Hope you like them!

Here are some of the things we have been working on...

[07/23/14]   I have been asked what we have coffee table, end tables, full/queen off white headboard, twin bed (headboard/footboard), peacock blue mirror, cream glazed sofa table. working on another dresser. let me know if you need one! :) thanks!!!!!!

If you need storage, we have your answer! Would love to keep this one myself but I have no place to put it. I keep thinking of all the "stuff" I could put in here!! This will be great in a bathroom for linens, a child's room, master bedroom or how about the kitchen for all those serving dishes and table linens you didn't know what to do with? Beautiful AND practical....what more can you ask for??

[07/10/14]   I am happy to report the owner of the dog has been found! Dixie is safely back home where she belongs :)

We have a headboard only, creamy off white with distressing. It can be queen or full. You can pick up rails from any of the mattress stores, usually about $50. The headboard is $100. This will look great in a master bedroom or guest room.

Simple, elegant, classic. This French Provencial dresser is simply gorgeous. Beautifully understated in an almost white finish, the graceful curves and detail of this piece will look elegant piece in any room. What do you think? This piece is SOLD....

[07/07/14]   Hello! I hope everyone has had a great holiday and enjoyed our beautiful weather! Love the cooler temps and lower humidity...great for painting!

What do you think? I am going to post a picture of a dresser I am about to start on and I want to know what color you think I should paint it. I am considering off white (like the cover photo), maybe teal or peacock blue, what about the popular cobalt blue? The top will be stained. In the picture, it has one base coat of stain so it can either be left like it is now or stained darker (cover). What are your thoughts? What colors??

Does anyone need some black end tables and a matching coffee table? These turned out really great! Charcoal black with warm brown distressing.Such a good, versatile look!

Hello! We have a super antique wardrobe that turned out sooo cute! I think this may be one of my new favorites....

Headboard, footboard, $145...complete with rails

{SOLD} Perfect in pink!

[05/07/14]   Hello! I need your opinions, please. I have just finished painting this changing table. My original thought was to distress it but it looks totally sweet as it is so I can't decide whether to leave it as it is or distress it. What do you think? Distress or not? And....anyone need a changing table done in a soft almost white with pink? I'll post the picture!

[05/03/14]   The dresser in the cover picture is SOLD...thank you Kila!!

Classic and beautiful!

Classic and beautiful!

This is another one of those incredibly beautiful colors and then the piece of furniture itself is fantastic! So much detail!! The color is not as blue as the peacock blue, it is more "seaglass" or a Caribbean blue/green. It is simply least I think so! Let me know what you think!

[03/24/14]   coming soon...check out the new cover photo! Simply stunning new dresser/media/buffet! Details to follow soon!!

Very pretty....Sofa table, console. Painted in a creamy off white, glazed in a warm brown and beautifully distressed!

[01/11/14]   hi Kelli Wilson...will you please pm me when you have time THANKS!

[01/10/14]   Remember a while back I showed you a very unique antique wardrobe/armoire? Many of you thought it was too pretty to paint. However, when I pulled it out and really looked at it, I realized there were some areas on it that really needed to be painted. But at the same time, other parts of it were just too beautiful and totally unique to cover up! That meant I had to come up with a way to make the piece pretty without compromising the beauty already there. I hope you like what I came up with.

I have never seen anything like this. Some of the wood is obviously hand carved. This wardrobe is an absolute fantastic piece of furniture. It provides tons of storage- the drawers are very deep plus if you wanted to, you could put shelves in the " hang up" area to add more If you want of a piece of furniture that is not only beautiful but a true collectible, uniquely beautiful piece that has lots of storage, this piece is what you need. I cannot tell you how pretty this wood is! I LOVE it! . (As usual, it is much prettier in "real life" than these pictures.)

When I get the pictures up, PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK...I know this piece isn't for everyone but I want to know what you think. To quote HGTV....LOVE IT or LIST IT! HA!!

Hello everyone! Did you go buy milk and bread today? I admit we did, not because we needed it but because that is what you are supposed to do when the word "snow" is mentioned! Since it is windy and cold, I thought I should post the gorgeous dresser I painted. It is pretty and bright and cheery. At least I think it is! Let me know if you like it!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

We have actually gotten a couple of things painted, I hope you will like them. The first post is the antique vanity I showed you a while back. Parts of it looked good but part of it needed help so trust me when I tell you, it needed to be painted to transform it into the beautiful piece it was meant to be in its new life! I think it turned out spectacular! Let me know what you think.

[12/25/13]   Wishing everyone Merry Christmas. May all your wishes come true!

New things coming will love them!

[11/13/13]   The peacock blue chest is SOLD...thanks Kim!
