Any idea what the delay on yearbooks or school photos is looking like? Just wondering in case school gets canceled for the rest of the school year.
AJ came down laughing after his Zoom meeting. "Mr. Hill told us we have to write in middle case letters! But it was an April fool's joke!" Gotta keep the humor going during this crazy time! 😄
I know you all have a LOT to worry about right know, but I was wondering if the school yearbook would still be done. Maybe with snapshots from zoom meetings. Photos that families want to share (like spirit week, etc). Even with all the chaos, I think the kids would love to have some recollection of their year to take with them? Isn’t it digital arts that helps put it together? I’m sure a zoom session for those that can would be a nice way for them to still contribute.

Dear parents/guardians:

Student medications maintained in the school Health Office are not required to be picked up during this closure. If you do need to pick up your child's medication, please call the office to make arrangements for a pick up time. If you do not get an answer in the office, you can email Ms. Wright at [email protected].

Here is the information I received:

STUDENT LEARNING EXTENSION OPPORTUNITIES
During the timeframe in which the schools in the Clark County School District are closed, we are providing student learning extension opportunities for all students. These student learning extension opportunities are not required for students to complete but attempt to provide activities for students to engage in learning at home. At this time, the Special Needs Resource Library at Vegas PBS is available to complete requests for books for students with special needs from parents/guardians by calling 702-799-1010, Option 7 or emailing [email protected].

Kindergarten-Grade 8

Student learning extension activities accessible through pencil and paper will provide opportunities for students to practice concepts and skills they have previously been taught
during the school year. The learning extension activities will be available at food deployment locations throughout the Las Vegas valley and online at ccsd.net in the near future.

Additional learning resources available for students in Kindergarten-Grade 8 are provided below:
● MAP Accelerator in Mathematics for Grade 3-Grade 8 https://www.khanacademy.org/login
● Khan Academy at www.khanacademy.org. Teachers can create access and assign learning experiences prior to or during school closure by referencing Khan Teacher Resources.
● Vegas PBS at www.vegaspbs.org.

Dear families,

As I'm sure you've heard, Governor Sisolak and Superintendent Jara just announced that all schools will be closed until April 6. I do not have any information other than what was announced at the press conference, but I have been told that I will be given more information tonight and tomorrow. I will share information with you as I receive it. Please know that your teachers will be in contact here on Dojo as well, as soon as we know more. Thank you all for being the best community in CCSD, and please keep your families safe.

Ms. Wright

It's time to meet Mrs. Mirasol, one of our 1st grade teachers, from Washington state. A graduate from Eastern Washington University, she has been a teacher for 20 years and 19 of those have been at Kesterson. Mrs. Mirasol loves making wreaths, collecting ladybug items, and baking goodies, especially lemon bars. Wednesday afternoons she teaches painting with Ms. Rachel. Isibindi is Mrs. Mirasol's house.

Spring Picture Day is Thursday, March 12. Here is the link to order ahead of time online: ios.mydorian.com and use the online access key: KUK293VM. This form will be coming home today if you prefer to send in the payment on picture day.

Don't forget to Spring Forward.
