[12/21/18] Our food drive ends tomorrow, we will see who wins the first place points. Have your child check the stage tomorrow for any lost and found items. Tune in tonight for our last bedtime story for the week.

Today Mrs. Maranan and Mrs. Spurlock's classes did a Grow the Grinch's Heart STEM Challenge. They also did non-standard measurement using peppermint candies.

Today was Disney/Holiday Character Dress-up day. Tomorrow is Candy Cane day.
Here are the current standings. There could be a shakeup coming, we have our food drive points to add. Our food drive ends this Friday. Isibindi earned 100 points on Friday at our cheer off. It'll be interesting to see where we end up.

We stayed warm today on Flannel/Fleece Friday. Monday is Holiday or Disney Character Dress Up day. Have a great weekend!

5th grade learned about the effects of smoking today from our DREAMS officer.
It's Wednesday and that means it's fine arts. It was also Jingle bell day. Tomorrow is Ugly Sweater day.
Today was Holiday hat/headband day. We can't wait to hear those J-I-N-G-L-E bells tomorrow.
Third grade has swept the attendance board these past 3 weeks! They get to enjoy an extra recess. Don't forget about our December incentive.
Today was Grinch in Whoville day. Students wore green and had crazy hair. We can't wait to see everyone's holiday headwear tomorrow. Have a great night!
On Friday 2nd grade had a punctuation picnic.
4th grade got to see the Mojave Max presentation on Friday.
Mrs. Ybarra’s fifth graders were experiencing their first Breakout EDU game. After learning about the three branches of the government, they had to use their knowledge and the clues provided to get through two locked boxes.

4th grade began their mining unit for Nevada history. On Monday students created a mining strategy and built square-set timbers. Today students cookie mined for chocolate chips, to experience mining for an object.
Ms. Schuldt's students had to operate on word problems that were solved incorrectly. They had to solve using the correct math operations.
Flyers are coming home today for spirit week!
On Friday Ms. Ayers and Mrs. Stunk's classes got an up close look at scorpions, snakes, geckos and tree frogs. We can't forget about the hissing cockroaches too! 😳

Fine Arts was yesterday. Here's a peek at some projects!
Southwest Gas paid a visit to 4th grade today. They gave a presentation on energy efficiency. Our kids got to explore how energy transfers and the different types of energy we use in our daily lives! They supplied each student with a kit to take home and help to make their homes more energy efficient.
Mrs. Kinan's class was under construction today. Students were constructing sentences. They built the sentence, used their checklist, wrote it on a sentence strip and glued it on their paper. Check out their hard work.
Mrs. McWilliams' class is learning about cause and effect. They are studying the Mountain of Fire. Check out her room transformation that includes a forest and volcano.
