Text to 9-1-1 for Henderson residents:

Did you know that you can text 9-1-1 if you or a loved one are in a situation where you are unable to safely call 9-1-1?

This service has been available, free of charge, for Henderson citizens since 2015. No pictures or videos can be attached to these messages.

When should you use it?

It is always preferred that you call 9-1-1 so necessary information can be obtained quickly. However, there are times that a text will allow for better or safer communication.

Use text to 9-1-1 if the caller is hearing/voice impaired.

Use text to 9-1-1 if the caller is incapable of speech due to a medical emergency.

Use text to 9-1-1 if speaking out loud could put the caller in danger (such as a home invasion, domestic violence).

9-1-1 and text to 9-1-1 are for life-threatening emergencies only.

If you have a non-emergency situation please call 702-267-5000 (select option 2).
