Oak Glen Baptist Church Youth Ministry

Oak Glen Youth Group is a ministry of Oak Glen Baptist Church. We are grateful for the vision of Pastor Sykes and the church body to reach youth today.

6 stop. Arch Street Meeting House. A Quaker meeting house over 200 years old.

Stop 5. Elfreth's Alley, the oldest residential street in America.

Stop 4 Betsy Ross House. The lady who is credited for creating the first American Flag.

Stop 3 Christ Church. The burial grounds of 7 signers of the Declaration of Independence.

The birthplace of America. This is where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution was signed.

Stop 2. Independence Hall

Day 3, first stop. The Liberty Bell

Stop four. American History Museum.

Our third stop for the day is the US Capitol tour. A tremendous experience.

We were able to meet Anna Grosz, a concentration camp survivor. A short summary of her story is given.

Our second and sobering stop, the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Our first stop is the Museum of the Bible.

Up early and ready to start day number 2. Riding the metro to National Mall.

After waiting on the rain to pass, we made it to our second stop.

"Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own." - John F. Kennedy

We have made it to our first stop. Pictured is the Enola Gay which dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

We were glad to be a part of the revival at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The first "country" church service for many.

We are officially on the way home.

This is how we feel on the last day.

Psalm 144:15 "Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD."

Thankful for another opportunity to let our teens teach in children's church.

We are excited about the Lord working in our teens and their willingness to learn to teach the Bible. It is our desire to train young people to reach the next generation which will be a lifelong task.
