2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; (10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
No matter who you are, you will have problems. You will experience deep pain and hurt. Pressures mount up, life seems to cave in, and you feel like giving up. Paul knew all too well what it was like to live this way. Criticism, conflict, violence, and death threats were a normal part of his life. Paul knew all too well what it was like to suffer trials and encounter difficulty. Even Paul surely went through seasons of doubt and discouragement. Without a doubt, he thought of quitting, but in order to finish his task, he relied on the presence and the promises of God.
The enemy is strong. He turns up the heat, and many times life can seem too much to bear. We feel like we are losing the battle. Maybe you are there right now. If so, here are two words for you: DON'T QUIT!! Hang in there. Don't throw in the towel. Stay the course. You have come too far. Do not give up!! No matter what comes your way, no matter what trial you are facing, no matter how bad the odds against you are, no matter how discouraged you may be, no matter how dark the tunnel is, DO NOT QUIT!!
May God Bless!!
1 Peter 2:18-19 (18) Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the forward. (19) For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
Being faithful to the commands of Jesus Christ has never been easy-and it certainly wasn't for those believers who were slaves when the apostle Peter penned these words. While the writer did not defend the practice of slavery, he did define the patience of those saints who were slaves.
Peter clearly instructed these servants on how to respond to those "good and gentle" masters, but more importantly, he told them how to react to those who were "harsh." As someone wisely said, "The true test of genuine Christians is not how they react to suffering, which they deserve, but rather how they respond to suffering they do not deserve."
Peter made that same point 2000 years ago: "For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongly. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God" (1 Peter 2:19-20).
Not responding to others in the same manner as they treat us not only honors God's biblical commands, but it also proves that Christianity is real!!
May God Bless!!
Romans 8:35,37 (35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
In life we experience highs and lows, good times and bad-and we must understand that God is God in the valley AND God on the mountaintop. You may know the poem "Footprints in the Sand." The speaker wonders why, during the most difficult times of life, there was only one set of footprints in the sand. Why had God left her alone in those trials and times of trouble? The Lord replied: "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints is when I carried you."
We experience hard times as individuals and collectively. And many times people want to blame God. The truth is, the evil one puts such ideas into the hearts of men, but God is always there to help us get through the aftermath. Such times of tragedy provide tremendous opportunity for Christians to show the love of God through words and deeds.
Satan tries to use hard times to separate us from God. But these same hard times can actually push us believers closer to God. The hardest challenges and deepest valleys force us to rely on God. During those struggles we realize He is always there and all we need. We learn in a new way that God's grace is more than sufficient, that "we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
If you are going through a rough time in your life right now, remember God is there. He will not only help you through it, but He will carry you through it. All you need to do is realize He is always there and He is all you need. No matter the circumstance, you are never alone.
May God Bless!!
This really made me think!! It took me going to Belize to realize that I'm wasting lots of time!!! Not anymore! I'm tired of that ole wood shed that God took me to numerous times while in Belize!!! Spend time with God alone!!! He's worth it...
What will You BE.?
“the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”-Micah 6:8
What will you be? What will you do with your life? A friend posted a video the other day that I will share with you a little later. It was a powerful video and really makes you think about how you spend your life and the time God has given you. For me, watching the video was a blessing because I could see a difference in my life that is not like most of everyone elses, and I was thankful God revealed that to me. At the same time it also made me aware there is so much more that can still be done. Which makes me want to ask you the question..
What does God want you to do with your life? What will you BE?
First and foremost He wants us to know Him, to have a relationship with Him, to bring glory to Him by the way we live our lives, by how we relate to Him and others.-Matthew 22:37-39 God calls us to live with a noble purpose, with love being our highest motivation. God is developing you to your highest potential so you can make the greatest possible contribution to the world.
When will you be ready to discover God’s plan for you?
God created us to be decision makers and it is important for you to know that if you are making decisions based primarily on what makes "me" happy, then you have your priorities backwards and you will stumble at every turn. Remember the ORDER of things. God first, then you. -Matthew 10:39
Each one of us is a unique person, with gifts, abilities and desires that give us the opportunities for creativity. To discover who we are and what those deep desires of our hearts God has instilled mean and they are clues to help us make decisions about what we do with our lives and how we will make a difference. I am so thankful for the guidance God gives us in life through His word and prayer. God is so pleased when we stand up and make a moral decision that reflects our desire to live at the highest and most useful level attainable to bring Him glory.
The absolute truth is life is not to be driven by what makes us happy, but by what brings God glory. God knows what you are capable of, and will equip you for the task He has for you. All you have to do is take that first step of faith. Stay open to His direction and redirection, and He will take you on an adventure that satisfies your unique design and surpasses your wildest dreams, you just have to have a willingness to say “yes” Being what God has called you to BE.
Are you using your time wisely? Are you doing what God wants you to do or are you telling God what your going to do? Do you have daily prayer time & read your Bible daily? Don't wait too long to do what God is calling you to do....most importantly always remember that all Christians are called to go out and spread the word!!!! Evangelism is more caught than taught---taking the church to the people by presenting the gospel out in the public & winning converts, once people are believers they will want to meet with other Christians in the church....are you giving priority to the right thing? Do you put your own needs first & then the needs of the lost second? Unless we give priority to evangelism other priorities will quickly take up our time. There is a tendency for churches to focus on their needs & become a social club. Church members have many needs and they can easily forget that the world is dying around them. When a church forgets about the dying world that's when the church dies....I challenge all Christians to move outside of the four walks of the church & spread God's word. There's so many ways you can do that----doing good deeds, helping hand, kind words, teaching, preaching, loving hug, etc....Luke 10:2--"The harvest is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray The Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Go out two by two before his face into the city. God sends Christians out as lambs among wolves...do not be afraid...always remember to pray & evangelize in the power of the Holy Spirit, follow with discipleship, them leave the results to God....we present the good news & rely on God to save sinners through us....Let's stop wasting our time & get out & spread the good news!!!!
Isaiah 43:18-19 says: (18) "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. (19) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert".
It is a new year. God describes what new is. They are wondrous things that He plans. They are the impossible things that He does. But we must remember for us to experience the impossible, we first have to face our inability to work out a solution. Look at what God's word says in the scripture above. Roadway in the wilderness? Rivers in the desert? These are impossible things for man to do, but not impossible with God. So in this new year, it is our prayer that you will fully trust God in ALL things in your life. If we put our trust in the Lord, it is at this point that our faith is awakened. We are able to put our trust in Him to do the impossible.
May God Bless!!
