Sarah and Reese with Santa.❤ Thank-you White Bluff-Rye Hill VFD for all the Christmas memories you give our families❤
Today my kids went to see the white bluff rye hill volunteer fire dept. Annual santa drive around. 1st the santa was amazing(even my 1 yr old bo sat with him) but this wonderful Sebastian county sheriff was riding with the fire depts and my 3 yr old daughter bella ask for sticker badge because her fort smith one didn't stick anymore. And he said no but i have something better for her. And he let her pick a Velcro superhero badge off his bulletproof vest. So thank you to the rye hill volunteer fire dept for time making kids day. And thank u to the sebastian county sheriffs office for having deputy's that are willing to make a little girls day. And unfortunately i don't remember the deputy's name that gave Bella the velcro badge
Santa has come to town❤️
We love our VFD, thank you to all!!

Trying out some demo equipment tonight and having fun doing it. It doesn’t hurt to get a little training in also.

[03/13/21]   To add to the original post. Today was a perfect example of interior attack to save a residence. The crews worked the fire pushing it away from the rest of the house protecting the main structure. Communication were on time and with the help of the exterior and roof teams the fire was extinguished. Thanks to Greenwood City, Greenwood Rural and EMP Fire, The patrol Deputies, and A special thanks to dispatch.

[03/12/21]   Today around 12:30pm our department was requested by Greenwood Rural FD to assist on a structure fire. 2 pumpers, 1 tanker, and a rescue truck responded to assist. When crews arrived heavy smoke was seen coming out of the eaves and vents in the roof. A crew was able to make entry into the residence and extinguish the fire inside the attic.

Thankfully everyone was able to exit the residence prior to arrival and due to the fast action of crews on scene there was minimal fire damage done to the home owners belongings.

01/16/2021

It takes continuous training to make sure a team is prepared. What a great turnout by our firefighters to train today on so many different areas of a structure fire. Pump Operations, water transfer, interior attack, ventilation both vertical and horizontal, SCBA, piercing nozzle, search and rescue, mayday training. Long day and everyone is tired but had a very successful training day!

[01/13/21]   The following information is from NOAA Tulsa. Due to the weather conditions any open flame has the potential to spread rapidly on Thursday and Friday.

The potential for rapid fire spread will increase Thursday with
the passage of a cold front, and will persist Friday. The front
is forecast to move through much of northeast Oklahoma by midday
Thursday and through the remainder of eastern Oklahoma and western
Arkansas by early Thursday evening. Behind the front, northwest
winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range can be expected in
northeast Oklahoma Thursday afternoon, with similar gusts
areawide on Friday. The strong winds will combine with low
humidities and dry fuels to increase the potential for rapid fire
spread in northeast Oklahoma Thursday and areawide on Friday.

01/11/2021

Two structure fires in one day. Thank you Bonanza Fire, EMP Fire,Fort Smith Fire and Hackett Fire for your response and manpower.
Also a thank you to Sebastian County Sherriff’s, Dispatchers and Emergency Management for keeping us safe out there.
