Sebastian County Fort Smith District Law Library provides access to legal research materials to attorneys, the judiciary, and the general public.

The Sebastian County Law Library is a community resource providing access to legal materials both electronic and in print, thus ensuring access to justice. The library is open to citizens, lawyers and public officials. Vision: The Sebastian County Law Library uses its staff, its collections, and the other tools and programs it develops to promote relevant, pertinent and timely legal information to the residents of Sebastian County in order to provide them with meaningful access to justice. Mission: Focus on meeting the needs of the library’s users. Create a county-wide community resource that promotes interaction and collaboration in the dissemination of legal information. Maintain a practical, timely and relevant collection and electronic access to legal materials that will meet the needs of the library's users. Make legal information available to users in the most appropriate and relevant format possible. Although staff may not offer legal advice, they provide bibliographic instruction and assist thousands of patrons each year in locating legal information and sample legal forms. The library is available to all, including members of the general public, members of the legal profession, and public officials.

Now Open More on Mondays! - We are now open 9 am to 7:30 pm on Mondays. Tuesday thru Thursday hours are 9 am - 5 pm. We are closed from 12:30 to 1:30 pm every day.

SEBASTIAN COUNTY residents, join us on September 23, 2019, for our Lawyer in the Library session. This month, we will answer all your questions about criminal record sealing. After the presentation, you can speak with one of our attorneys to see if your record is eligible to be sealed.

[07/15/19]   Monday, September 23, 2019, at 6:00pm, the Library will hold a presentation. Lawyer in the Library will be presenting the topic Criminal Record Expungement. This is open to anyone interested.

Starting August 5, 2019, on Mondays ONLY, the library will be changing its hours of operation. We will be opening at 11am and closing at 7pm.

[05/28/19]   The Sebastian County Law Library will be closed June 3 - 6th. We will resume regular business hours on June 10th. If you have any immediate concerns, please feel free to contact Mike Newman at 782-7203.

Come in to your local Law Library. We have a nice room for conferences, studying/researching or client meetings. If we don't have the book or form you are looking for, then try our online LexisNexis and Westlaw resources. (Westlaw is secondary materials only at this time.)

[09/10/18]   The Law Library has been using LexisNexis online and now has Westlaw secondary materials only online as well, as a bridge contract.
