Apparently there are people who are not afraid to live with ghosts and goblins if it affords them the opportunity to get more home for their money or live in a better neighborhood. Thirty-three percent of the 1,000 respondents to a survey by the National Association of REALTORS® indicated they were open to living in a haunted house, 25 percent might be, while 42 percent are not open to the idea.

When asked about the factors that may sway their decision regarding a haunted house, the respondents indicated as follows

40 percent indicated that they need a price reduction.
35 percent require a better neighborhood.
32 percent need larger square footage.
29 percent would do so if more bedrooms are involved.
8 percent required no additional perks.
When asked about buying a home where someone had died on the premises, 47 percent indicated they would, 27 percent said they might, and 26 percent said they would not.
