Meet K-9 Clardy!

Last week, Sergeant Gregory Keane and K9 Clardy traveled to the Rhode Island State Police for patrol certification. K9 Clardy, is named after Trooper Thomas Clardy, who was killed in the line of duty in 2016. Sergeant Keane and K9 Clardy passed all seven areas of the certification. Troopers Johnson and Baird were the instructors for the class.

Thank you to the Rhode Island State Police canine training staff and handlers. And welcome K-9 Clardy to the team!

***Connecticut State Police Mourn Death of State Trooper Killed in I-84 Traffic Crash***

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the Connecticut State Police announce the passing of Trooper First Class (TFC) Kevin Miller #1015 as a result of injuries sustained during an on-duty motor vehicle accident that occurred this afternoon on I-84 East in the Town of Tolland.

TFC Miller was currently assigned to Troop C in Tolland, having previously served at Troop K in Colchester and Troop E in Montville.

TFC Miller was a member of the 108th Training Troop, graduating from the Connecticut State Police Academy on March 19, 1999. We are grateful for his dedicated service to the Connecticut State Police and the residents of Connecticut, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Somerset Police Department, Somerset Massachusetts

Last evening, the Somerset Police Department’s K-9 Unit responded to a neighboring community to assist in the search for drugs in a motor vehicle.

K-9 Viepo recovered 704.66 grams of cocaine from that vehicle. That’s a lot of illegal narcotics.

We just found out that Viepo also hit on a place that was found to have over 1000 ecstasy pills!

Great job Viepo! And of course his handler, Jared Linhares.

Love What Matters

"Every night at sundown, under the direction of Galveston County Constable Clint Wayne Brown, everything comes to a respectful stop at the corner of Post Office St and 21st St in Galveston. 83-year-old Retired Marine Veteran, Guy Taylor, plays Taps from the balcony of his building. It's his way of honoring all veterans. God bless our Veterans. God bless Texas."

I thought my window was down, but I found it was up when I put my head through it.
I pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother-in-law and headed over the embankment.
I had been driving for forty years when I fell asleep at the wheel and had an accident.
I was sure the old fellow would never make it to the other side of the road when I struck him.
I was thrown from my car as it left the road. I was later found in a ditch by some stray cows.
