We are very pleased that we've been able to maintain the educational aspect of our home inspections even with the attendance restrictions we put in place. Zoom has enabled us to review the inspection photos with our client and their agent shortly after the inspection or go over the full report the following day.

Having the client attend is always best but in our current situation we all have to adapt and use technology to keep things moving.

Performing safe home inspections during the COVID-19 pandemic means changes for everyone. For added safety we follow CDC and InterNACHI COVID-19 Safety Guidelines, perform inspections by ourselves and review findings over the phone or by email.

If you know someone trying to complete a home purchase please pass our name on.

Fun little comparison of what our inspectors see from the ground vs what they see using a camera mounted on a 38' telescoping pole.

Our inspectors get a bird's eye view and the ability to zoom in and identify issues (cracked plumbing boots, missing shingles, nail pops, holes, critters, improper repairs) all from the safety of the ground.

Selling your home in the spring? Consider an inspection prior to putting it on the market.
Save money, ensure a smoother home sale and reduce stress!

A seller's inspection will provide a list of small and potentially larger items to be addressed. Doing an inspection early, allows you to take care of small, nit-picky, items and obtain estimates for larger issues in a less pressurized time frame. Then you can choose to have the repairs done or have the estimates on hand during sale negotiations.

Creosote is a byproduct of wood combustion that consists mainly of tar.

Traces of creosote are found in the smoke that rises from open flames; when the smoke travels upward and mixes with cold air and water near the top of your chimney, it solidifies and sticks to the chimney liner (or, if the chimney is unlined, the brickwork itself).

Interestingly enough, creosote is actually what gives “smoked” meat its distinctive flavor, scent, and stability.

How do chimney sweeps deal with creosote?

If you stay on top of things, you should be able to “catch” the buildup in Stage 1.

Don’t wait until you’ve reached Stage 3 to deal with the problem, or your health, property, and wallet may wind up taking a serious hit!
