We want to take a few minutes to welcome the newest advisor to The Insurance Loft team.

Welcome Patrick Wall! We’re so excited to have you.
A New Yorker originally, Patrick recently moved out to the Denver area because he just couldn’t resist these mountain views. He’s a hiker, avid golfer and the biggest Philadelphia Eagles fan you’ll find outside of Pennsylvania.

Can’t wait for you to work with him!

During wild times like these, insurance companies want to offer options to ease your burdens as much as possible. And right now, financial insecurity is something we’ve all had to come to terms with.

Insurance companies are offering a payment leniency programs. There are a lot of pros and cons to taking advantage to these opportunities. We’ve outlined them here for you.

Reach out to your advisor today to review your options.

Things are a little crazy right now. And we know you’re dealing with a lot. But we’re still here.

We’ve taken the steps to be fully prepared for this. As a staff, we are lucky to be able to operate The Insurance Loft remotely from our homes. We are still available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm MST. Reach out to your advisor or your support staffer if you have any questions.

Stay safe. Stay inside. Keep washing your hands. And let us help.

There’s a lot of scary information out there right now. Especially when it comes to the coronavirus. A lot of it is revolving around the illness and travel insurance cancellation clauses.

We want to break down what travel insurance won’t cover when it comes to cancelled trips due to the existence of viruses. Insurance exists to cover “unexpected” events, but when an illness has been known of it is no longer considered “unexpected.” Therefore, your travel insurance will no longer cover trip cancellations. However, there’s an upside. A lot of travel insurance policies include an extra endorsement that allows you to cancel for any reason for an additional cost.

Ask your advisor about this coverage upgrade if you’re planning an upcoming trip!

Thank you so much for 400 amazing 5-star reviews. We really appreciate loyal clients like you! We’re here for you anytime.

We're lucky to have a manager like Jeff Neuhalfen! His motivation and hard-working attitude impresses us all daily. Thanks, Jeff!

It seems like every day a new cool gadget comes out; the drone is no exception. These tiny remote-controlled devices are gaining in popularity every day. Drones come in various sizes with several different uses. However, despite its size, overall price point, or purpose, a drone is considered an aircraft.

The thing is, most homeowner's policies exclude coverage on an aircraft. And drones can cause severe damage; they can cause fires, property damage, and serious injury.

That's why it's important to mention these types of gadgets to your advisor. They can make sure to add an endorsement to your policy or even suggest a separate policy to protect you and your device!

As 2019 draws to a close, we are spending a few minutes reflecting on all the things that have mattered most to us over the last decade. And a lot of those things involve you. Thanks for the past year! We appreciate you.

We will be closed at 12:00 pm on New Year’s Eve and will open shop up again on January 2nd. Have a wonderful New Year!

Happy 2020 and stay safe!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

We will be closing the offices on December 24th and December 25th to celebrate the holiday with our friends and families.

We hope you have the best holiday. Be safe and have fun!

Each person has their own holiday traditions. Some of those are moments that have been passed down from generation to generation; others are traditions we create ourselves. But these traditions make the holiday season extra special.

Sometimes we live on opposite ends of the country from our families, so new traditions have to be made with new types of families. Logan Baer, who is away from his parents and siblings, has built a family of friends out here in Denver. They will be spending the holidays up in the Rockies, skiing every slope they find.

What new traditions have you made over the years?

Each person has their own holiday traditions. Some of those are moments that have been passed down from generation to generation; others are traditions we create ourselves. But these traditions make the holiday season extra special.

A lot of people make memories and traditions through food and special meals. Sarah and her family put together a luxurious surf and turf dinner every Christmas eve. Before the meal, the family is given matching pajamas and then the whole family sits down to dinner together.

What traditions make your holiday special?

Each person has their own holiday traditions. Some of those are moments that have been passed down from generation to generation; others are traditions we create ourselves. But these traditions make the holiday season extra special.

For most of us, including Samantha, the best part of the holidays is the time we get to spend with our loved ones. With busy jobs that involve travel, hours out of the home, and children away to school, holidays are some of the only days we get to spend just enjoying each other’s company. Samantha’s family has built a Christmas tradition of time spent together.

What traditions make your holiday extra special?

Happy Thanksgiving to all our clients, friends, and family! We are thankful for all of you and what you bring to our lives.

We will be spending the rest of the week celebrating with each other and our families. Stay safe and enjoy your holiday!

"There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty, that makes human nature rise above itself, in acts of bravery and heroism." - Alexander Hamilton

It's because of brave men and women, both alive and past, that have helped build this country. Your dedication to your family, your nation, your beliefs is genuinely inspiring. To all veterans, we salute you. Thank you for all you do and all your doing to ensure our freedom. You're our hero.

Renzo Ligouri, son of one of our owners, Scott Ligouri, is practicing his role as the future of The Insurance Loft. At a ripe age of 16 months, Lorenzo takes his job very seriously. He’s hard at work calling our clients to make sure they all remember to check their smoke alarm batteries and turn back their clocks one hour.

Don’t forget! This Sunday at 2:00, Day Light Savings time officially ends.

As much as some of us don’t want to admit it, technology is the future of industry. From automobiles to insurance, smarter devices and integrated systems will slowly take over the market. Companies like Tesla, Toyota, and Google are leading the way into self-driving autonomous cars. Tesla’s “autonomy promises to preserve our car-centered lifestyle but eliminate 94% of crashes.

Autonomous vehicles are the future, and the insurance industry will shift to acclimatize itself to these advancements. We keep our eyes on these changes, so make sure you keep an eye on your feeds for updates.

We are super excited to welcome a new commercial advisor to our team!

When he’s not here with us in the office, he’s either supporting one of his favorite Colorado teams, or you can find him in the great outdoors. In the summer, he and his fiancée like to take their 3 dogs (life vests included) out on their canoe, hiking, or camping out in the mountains. In the winter, they are up in Vail hitting the slopes.

We’re so glad you’ve joined us, Joaquin. Welcome to The Loft!

The Insurance Loft will be closed in observation of Labor Day. We will be taking the day off to spend time with our friends and family.

Settle down with a cool drink for one more day by the pool or fire up the grill for the perfect steak! We hope you enjoy your long weekend. Have a safe and fun holiday.

We're so excited to welcome Kylie Sharae Kroeplin to our team!

Like any true born Idahoan, Kylie is a die-hard potato lover and Boise State football fan. When it's not football season, you can find her spending time with her family. Whether it's going to the shooting range with her husband or spending all day outside with her two young boys, she's always on the go. After spending the day chasing her little ones, she likes to wind down with a glass of wine or take a run around the closest park.

An avid hiker and camper, Kylie takes every opportunity to take her family out of the city and into the mountains. Make sure you ask her about her funniest camping stories or favorite camping spots.

Welcome to The Loft, Kylie! We're happy that you're here.

For a lot of us, vacations are the highlight of our year. We spend time preparing, planning, and researching to make sure our trips are the best. But something we don’t consider is injury or illness. Traveling opens you up to a lot of risks: new foods, extreme activities, exotic animals, and alternative transportation methods.

This is why international and domestic travel insurance is so important. Not only does it cover medical treatment and medical transportation back to your home state, but it also covers medications and excess medical expenses.

Travel insurance doesn’t just cover your health either. It can help you get home if political unrest breaks out. It can assist you if your travel plans get delayed or if your baggage is lost or delayed, or if your passport gets stolen.

Vacations are made for lifetime memories, and we want to make sure those memories are happy ones. If you’re planning a trip, call your advisor or set up a time to discuss your travel options.

Electric scooters are the newest way to get from point A to B. They can reach up to 20 miles per hour and require riders to maintain and follow the standard rules to the road.

Naturally, due to high speeds and use in dense urban areas, injuries, deaths, and property damage are risks. But do the electric scooter companies extend their insurance to their riders?

The short answer: No. As stated in the fine print of the scooter contract, they will not cover damage or injury.

By renting a scooter, you are assuming full responsibility and liability. And your personal insurance won’t cover you either.

Your homeowner’s policy medical payments often reject coverage due to any liability caused by a motor or self-propelled vehicle. Your auto insurance excludes any vehicle with less than four wheels, and your motorcycle insurance will not cover an incident where the rider is standing. Even your health insurance can decline you coverage.

So how do you make sure you’re covered the next time you scoot? The best option is an extended liability policy called an umbrella. It is the only option that extends your auto insurance liability to include vehicles with less than four wheels. This policy is the only option that may provide some sort of liability coverage.

Before you jump on a scooter, call your advisor and set up an umbrella policy.

We're almost teenagers! Happy Birthday, The Insurance Loft! We couldn't have done it without our incredible clients, dedicated staff, and innovative owners. Congrats, Scott & Brian!

An earthquake registering 7.1 magnitude on the Richter scale rolled through Southern California on July 5th, solidifying itself as the biggest quake that California has seen in 20 years. This earthquake followed quickly on the heels of July 4th’s 6.4 magnitude quake. Rumbling could be felt as far as Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

How do these seismic activities play into your insurance portfolio?

The scary thing is that most homeowners don’t purchase earthquake insurance. In fact, only 10% of the homes in California, where two-thirds of the nation’s earthquakes occur, have the correct coverage for these catastrophic events. This means that out of the 11+ million owned homes in California, just over 1 million of them are insured by earthquake insurance. The hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage caused by these events, won’t be covered by a standard home insurance policy unless earthquake coverage was specifically requested.

Earthquakes strike all over the US, following fault lines, heavily fracked areas, and near large mines. Without the proper coverage, damage caused by the earth’s movement is not covered under your home insurance.

If you live in an area prone to these types of catastrophe’s, reach out to your advisor.

On the Fourth of July, Americans typically spend over 1 billion dollars on fireworks that are used in over 14,000 different firework shows. Americans eat over 150 million hotdogs and spend 7.2 billion dollars on food for their Fourth of July celebrations.

Whether you plan to spend the day lazing by the pool, grilling out in the backyard, or shooting off fireworks, we hope you have a wonderful day.

The staff of The Insurance Loft will be spending Thursday, the fourth and Friday, the fifth to celebrate with our families.

Have fun and be safe! 🇺🇸🎇

We spend most of our time at work: 8 hours a day, five days a week, 2,080 hours a year.

That’s why finding an amazing company is so important.

The dynamic here at The Insurance Loft is created by finding a staff that are focused on the same goals. We all want to grow in our careers, better understand our industry, and have coworkers that we mesh with.

We work hard, we kill our goals, and then we play hard.

Some things stay with you for a lifetime. Moving into your first dorm, acing that first big college final, watching your team school the winning touchdown in the championship game, and walking across the graduation stage to get your diploma after four years of working and playing hard.

That school spirit doesn’t end with graduation, because now you’re an alumnus.

We are rolling out a new benefit for several of the nation’s biggest alumni associations. We have worked with our long-time coverage partner, Nationwide, to provide great discounts for these institutions.

If you see your university, sorority, fraternity, or academic association listed? Reach out to your advisor and let them know so they can apply a 5% discount to your insurance coverage.

300 is a huge number! And today we got our 300th five-star review!

We pride ourselves on making our clients happy. And we’re thrilled that you’re loving The Insurance Loft!

Marking our clients happy is our favorite part of our job. Thanks for being so incredible and helping us reach this massive milestone.

As a society, diversity is what makes us stronger. We are every color, every size, and every identity. We take pride in our diversity, not only as a community but as a staff.

We love that everyone in our staff is diverse! And we love that our clients are too.

Go out, throw some glitter in the air, and dance until the sun comes up.

Celebrate safely, but celebrate with pride.

Smart home devices have made so many things easier. They can turn our lights on for us, can read us the traffic report, let us lock our door from the local coffee shop, and they can even tell us who's standing on our front porch.

If they do all these things to help us, why don't insurance companies like them?

The simple answer is that your Wi-Fi isn't secure and that "manufacturers race to release these systems without a good understanding of how they will be used in the wild." These devices rely on your internet connection to function. If your internet connection dies, so does your smart doorbell, smart deadbolt, and your smart security cameras. These devices are also highly susceptible to interference. Any time you access a public internet connection, one at the library, one at the coffee shop, etc., other users can access your information. Including access to your smart home devices.

Anyone with internet access and decent know-how can hack into your smart devices and "can lead to all kinds of potential mischief, if not outright harm, from switching off your security system to cranking up your smart oven until it overheats and burns the house down."

If you're trying to decide between a traditional security system that is monitored vs. a smart home device, keep this in mind. You and your family's safety is the most important thing.
