I am a registered nurse who was referred to The Denver Hospice for my mother-in-law's care by a friend who'd had a good experience when her parents needed care. Our experience with nurse Kayli, CNA Debbie, social worker Rebecca, and volunteer Bob, was of the highest quality, as was the medication delivery and equipment we needed. Each of these individuals were smart, kind, and experienced, allowing us to provide wonderful comfort care up to the time of death. I will be glad to refer people in need of your services whenever I meet them. A heartfelt thank you for the relief you brought to our family and Donna. 🥰
Thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at Denver Hospice.
Need your help! ᕦ|◕ ⌂ ◕|ᕤ I'm surveying mental health workers to learn more about how you protect yourself from traumatic stress exposure while treating patients in an increasingly social media saturated world. It takes 12 minutes & you qualify to win $50 Amazon. To jump in, it’s brief, anonymous and potentially insightful-> https://forms.gle/VKryHEESnpuENXLJA This is a completely anonymous academic study. You don’t have to be a frequent Facebook user because the survey also asks about traditional support too. You just need to be licensed or working for a licensed supervisor. The results will be used to develop best practices recommendations on how social media use impacts secondary traumatic stress. Feel free to pass along to therapists, social workers, psych nurses and psychiatrists who treat trauma vulnerable patients. The wider the sample, the more relevant the findings will benefit mental health efficacy. Any questions, feel free to forward 'em along to me.
Thank you from the family of Greg Monks.

Hand washing has always been good practice! In the late 19th century, Florence Nightingale and her helpers used strict hand-washing and hygiene efforts to reduce death rates by 40% during the Crimean War. With these small but powerful steps, they ushered in nursing as we know it today.
During #NationalNursesWeek, we honor these pioneers of care and creativity both past and present. Tag a nurse in the comments to thank them! 👇

Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives.

There is no cure for the majority of rare diseases and many go undiagnosed.

Rare diseases affect 30 million people in the United States, and 350 million people globally.

Over 7,000 distinct rare diseases exist and approximately 80 percent are caused by faulty genes.

The National Institutes of Health estimates that 50% of people affected by rare diseases are children, making rare diseases one of the most deadly and debilitating for children worldwide.
