The Denver Hospice

The Denver Hospice

We are the leading, largest and most trusted not-for-profit provider of life-enhancing hospice and palliative care.

For 40 years, more than 64,000 patients and their family members have turned to us for care and comfort during difficult times. As Colorado's leader in hospice and palliative care we are committed to caring for everyone who comes through our door wherever they call home. Recognizing that every person is unique we adapt our plans of care to meet each person's physical, emotional and spiritual needs, and ensure that the services we provide are specially designed for each patient.

The Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center at Lowry has 24 suites with patios. Our homelike setting is centrally located and includes such amenities as a family dining room and day rooms, a chapel, library and hydro-therapy spa outfitted with a salon-style basin. Gardens, walkways and high-tech innovations add to the light-filled ambiance and comforts of our state-of-the-art facility.

Mission: Our mission is to encircle those facing advanced illness with unprecedented levels of comfort, compassion and expertise.

In honor of our veterans on the 4th of July we had the privilege of participating in a Veteran Pinning Ceremony at Franklin Park Health Center — in partnership with All Veterans Funeral and Cremation. #landofthefree #homeofthebrave

Did you know?
The first hospice – St. Christopher’s Hospice – was founded by Dame Cicely Saunders in 1967 in London. Recognized as the founder of the hospice movement, she was trained as a physician, nurse, and social worker, with a vision to transform end-of-life care where pain and symptom control would be linked with compassionate care, teaching, and clinical research. Having volunteered at a hospital early in life and witnessing the aftercare of patients with terminal illness, Dame Cicely came to believe that people should die with dignity, compassion, and respect. She introduced the idea of “total pain” which included the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of distress. She regarded each person, whether patient or staff, as an individual to the end.
