If you are filing an Idaho income tax return, your due date is JUNE 15 2020, NOT July 15, which is the Federal deadline. Since the Idaho tax return gets much of its info from the Federal return, this may effectively mean Idahoans need to file by June 15.
However, your deadline to pay any federal taxes due will still be July 15.
Any Idaho taxes due need to be paid by June 15.
Other states nearby: Oregon, Montana and California have all extended their due date to July 15, same as the Federal. Washington and Nevada do not have state income taxes.
It's Official! The deadline for filing AND paying your Federal income tax returns has been changed to July 15, 2020!
Take note: Your state may or may not conform to the federal rules on this. Already I am hearing of some that have moved their due date to June 15th, May 1, July 15, and many that haven't made any change, at least at this point. Be sure to check your state's due date!
And be careful you don't forget to file altogether! If you owe taxes the penalties for filing late can be steep!
[01/28/20] Just a reminder, due to side effects from Ed's cancer medications we have regretfully closed our Pinehurst office and consolidated into our Coeur dAlene office. We welcome our Silver Valley clients to stop by when they are in CdA, or you can contact us by phone/text (208-277-6268), e-mail ([email protected]), 'snail' mail, or fax (208-765-4580). The IRS is urging everyone who has income tax withheld to use their "Withholding Estimator", on www.irs.gov. They say this will give you the most accurate amount to put on your W-4.
Don't forget your state taxes, many states now require their own W-4.

[01/28/20] Well, here it is time for another tax season. The IRS is now accepting e-files! W-2s and 1099s should be mailed out by Jan 31. Get your stuff together and come on in and see us!
There are going to be a lot of changes this coming tax season.
The IRS urges everyone to give their Withholding Calculator a try. Hopefully it will give you a better idea of how much you should be withholding from your paycheck under the new tax laws.
Idaho has a State Withholding Calculator. I'm sure most of the other states do, also.
[04/17/18] Last Day of Tax Season! If you can't pay your taxes on time you should at least file on time; the penalty for late filing is much higher than the penalty for late payment!
[01/19/18] IRS is emphasizing security more and more. If your refund includes any Earned Income Credit or refundable Child Tax Credit the IRS won't be sending it to you until after Feb. 27. This gives them more time to do security checks on your return to make sure no one has filed a fraudulent return under your name to get a refund.
[01/08/18] It's going to be an interesting tax year! Once again the official deadline to file your taxes is not April 15. Instead, due to a Sunday and a holiday in D.C., the deadline is Tuesday April 17, 2018.
[03/08/17] And again, Tax Day will be on April 18th, due to weekends and holidays. But it's still a good idea to get it done before the last minute!
Tax Day this year will be April 18, 2016, instead of April 15th.
But don't put everything off until the last minute! Have pity on your (possibly) overwhelmed tax preparer!
It's a New Year! Have a great one!
Time to gather all your tax documents and come on in.
Most people/companies have until Jan 31 to send you your tax documents, so make sure you have received them all.
[12/24/15] It's almost That Time again. Only a few days to perform any last-minute tax strategies for 2015.
[02/17/15] Don't forget to get your info together and prepare your tax return! If you need help you know who to call! (Yes, me!)

[02/18/14] If you do not have health insurance in 2014, for at least 9 months, you will incur a penalty on next year's tax return. The penalty will be the GREATER of: $95 (per adult); OR 1% of the amount of your Adjusted Gross Income that is over $10,150 for singles or $20,300 for married couples (and add $3950 for each dependent to those amounts).
[02/18/14] If you want to get health insurance and possibly a subsidy from the Obamacare website in your state, you need to do it before March 31! Then the website is shutting down until next year!
[01/23/14] Tax season is quickly upon us. The IRS is not accepting e-filed returns until Jan 31, but you can get your return put together as soon as you get all your tax info, then we can e-file it on the 31st.
