“New Year new me”, “New Year new start”, how often did you had those big changes planned for the New Year? Lots! How often did you manage to actually accomplish it? Probably a little bit less.

Don’t worry you’re not the only one. It happens to the best to. So, how to make actually achievable resolutions? And, set yourself up for success.

Follow those steps and this year you will make it, it’s a promise!

1. Think big act small
It’s a great idea to set up a big goals, like completing your first Ironman or losing 100Ibs.
All the big dreams can come true if you break it into small action steps. Like, adding more green veggies to your dinner, drinking more water or going for a run 3 x week.
Decide how fast you want to achieve your main goal (let’s say 12 months) and divide it into smaller (daily, weekly, monthly) parts that need to be completed in order to achieve the big goal. Break it down as small as possible and move forward step by step.

2. Never give up!
Setbacks happen to everyone, it’s normal. But what differentiates successful goal achievers from the less successful ones? They never give up! They accept the failure, analyze what lead to it, learn from the mistakes and start fresh the next morning.
So don’t beat yourself up! Get up and do it again! And again, and again... as many times as needed to complete your goal. It’s never to late, remember.

3. Focus on your goal.
Life happens and you will be put in situations that may sabotage achieving your goal, like business trips and eating out, or an injury. Overcome those obstacles with your goal in mind. Remind yourself why are you doing it, what’s at stake here and why is it important to make the right choices and mindful decisions.
Remember about your big goal in the moments of weakness and temptation, but also successful times. Each time when you achieve one of your smaller action steps, stop for a moment, think about how proud you feel of yourself and motivated to keep going. Embrace yourself and memorize this feeling. Bring it back when you need it.

What to eat and to drink on a Keto diet - the beginners guide 📖

✅Keto diet foods: Natural fats (butter, coconut, nuts butters, avocados, olives, olive oil); Meat; Fish and seafood; Eggs; Cheese; Vegetables that grow above ground.

✅The most important thing for reaching ketosis is to avoid eating too many carbs. You’ll probably need to keep carb intake under 50 grams per day of net carbs, ideally below 20 grams. The fewer carbs, the more effective it appears to be for reaching ketosis, losing weight or reversing type 2 diabetes.

✅Try to avoid:
Here’s what you should avoid on a keto diet – carb foods containing a lot of sugar and starch. This includes starchy foods like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. These foods are very high-carbs.

✅Foods to avoid on a ketogenic diet: bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruit, beer, soda, sweets.

✅This means that on a keto diet you’ll basically need to avoid sugary foods completely, as well as starchy foods like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Also avoid processed foods, and instead follow our keto diet advice.

✅Furthermore, the food should primarily be high in fat, and only moderately high in protein, as excess protein can be converted to blood sugar in the body. Avoid low-fat diet products. A rough guideline is about 5% energy from carbohydrates (the fewer carbs, the more effective), 15-25% from protein, and around 75% from fat.14

What to drink:

✅So what do you drink on a ketogenic diet? Water is the perfect drink, and coffee or tea are fine too. Ideally, use no sweeteners, especially not sugar. A small amount of milk or cream in your coffee or tea is OK (but beware of caffe latte!). The occasional glass of wine is fine too.

How to burn fat more efficient and get outstanding results while on Keto (and not only)?

There’s a few things that will help you to become a fat burning machine and get into deep Ketosis fast!

1. Intermediate fasting

There are several different intermittent fasting methods. Three popular ones are:

- The 16/8 Method: Skip breakfast every day and eat during an 8-hour feeding window, such as from 12 noon to 8 pm.

- Eat-Stop-Eat: Do one or two 24-hour fasts each week, for example by not eating from dinner one day until dinner the next day.

- The 5:2 Diet: Only eat 500-600 calories on two days of the week, but eat normally the other 5 days.

As long as you don't compensate by eating much more during the non-fasting periods, then these methods will lead to increased metabolism and burn more fat. It also enhances Ketosis.

2. Cold exposure

You can practice cold exposure in anyway that will expose your body to the temperature lower than your body temperature.

For example, cold shower, ice bath, swim outdoors, spending time outdoors during cooler hours.

Exposure to cold temperatures causes stem cells to form brown fat instead of white fat, according to a new study. Brown fat causes our bodies to burn extra calories to keep warm — so if we can produce brown instead of white fat, that could help us burn off excess body fat.

Cold exposure together with carbohydrate restriction help to get faster and deeper in the state of Ketosis.

3. Exercise

Any type of activity is better than none. Commit to something that you really enjoy to make it a habit. That’s the key to success.

The body primarily uses fat and carbohydrates for fuel. A small amount of protein is used during exercise, but it's mainly used to repair the muscles after exercise.

The ratio of these fuels will shift depending on the activity you're doing.

For higher-intensity exercises, such as fast-paced running, the body will rely more on carbs for fuel than fat. That's because the metabolic pathways available to break down carbs for energy are more efficient than the pathways available for fat breakdown.

However higher-intensity exercise creates a huge metabolism boost for up to 48h! Which means that after you burn all the glucose stored in your body, you begin to burn fat.

Again, any activity is better than no activity at all. Find something that you enjoy doing, and have fun and burn fat at the same time!
