Horrible experience EVER ‼️ Definitely thinking about switching😡😡😠😠😡😡
Just curious...we recently had our 4yr old wellness check and 2 vaccines. My insurance isn’t covering this preventative medicine...and the total costs for our 30 min visit was $606!! That’s awful. I could pay less than this at the ER. Can someone tell me why your charges are so incredibly expensive? I’m scared to come in and get flu shots for my kids because who knows how much I’m going to get charged!!
This is the third or fourth time I’ve posted to this page this month. Both previous posts were complaints about phone wait times. Have my posts been removed bc I don’t see them anywhere on your fb page? I will be taking screen shots of them from now on. I am having to call back again bc no one will follow up on my daughters labs that were taken tues or wed. I had to call Thursday and ask about them. I had to call Friday (had to wait 37 mins for someone to answer) and ask about them. Now I’m having to call again on Sunday to see where they r and what’s going on. I had to wait 28 mins until someone picked up the phone. Guess what someone will call me back today. Thx for nothing. Something has got to give at coastal or we will be switching to another location. Which I don’t want to do since we have been seeing y’all for 15 straight years with three different kids. But I will if needed. The bigger y’all have gotten the worse the customer service gets!
I called yesterday Tuesday 6-23 to make an apt and it took 15 mins for someone to pick up. I am now calling back today to check on labs and it took 37 mins for someone to pick up the phone. Yes I said 37 mins!!! I made the same complaint on here last week about wait times. Please do something to decrease the wait times. This is as bad as calling Xfinity!!!
Called last week to make an apt and it took 31 mins for someone to pick up the phone. I did make a complaint with the lady that answered the phone. While I was waiting in hold I did the apt message via online and got a call back 2 days later asking if I wanted to set up an apt. Called just now and had to wait 26 mins until someone picked up the phone. A 26 min wait for a 1 min phone call. That is beyond ridiculous! Again I made a complaint to the nurse that answered the phone. These wait times are in no way related to the Covid issue! These wait times have been going on for at least a year now. Will service ever get better?
Are you giving your patients’ families informed consent? You didn’t give it to me.
Please provide email address for customer service.
My son is off on his shuttle mission to space with his crew members
Please update as to what you all are doing at this time to combat Covid-19. Many pediatric offices are changes things up such as seeing well checks in the morning and sick visits after a certain time as to not mix the two. I’ve received updates from Publix and PF Chang’s via email but nothing from our pediatrician office?!
What is going on over there? I have been on hold for over 17 minutes this morning trying to get an appointment and I still have not talked to a person yet! I have been with CPA for eight years and this has never been an issue. I still have not talked to a person I am still holding........ UUHHHHGGGG!!!
Hi! Do you guys have any upcoming ear piercing clinics planned? What about an age requirement?
Any idea if you are doing another ear piercing clinic soon? Age requirement? Thanks!

Operating as usual

For breastfeeding women, receiving the COVID vaccine should be considered on a case by case basis with consideration to the prevalence in the community at the time and the risk of exposure for the mother. This decision should be made in conjunction with the mother’s physician. The safety of the COVID-19 vaccine during lactation is not yet known as breastfeeding women were not included in the clinical trials. We feel the COVID-19 vaccine is likely safe as all non-live vaccines are safe to receive during lactation. There are currently no studies evaluating mRNA vaccines and lactation, however, consensus of the experts is that the mRNA would be rapidly degraded after injection into the muscle and the amount that would get to a mother’s breastmilk is likely to be very low; any mRNA that is transferred is likely to be digested and have no effect on the infant. We will continue to amend this with new CDC/FDA recommendations when available.

We continue to be committed to delivering clinical excellence in an environment that is fun, kid-friendly, and sensitive to the unique needs of each child. We love what are #CPAKIDS families are saying about us! "I was so pleased with my recent visit at CPA. Everyone was so professional, compassionate, and caring. The doctor took time to listen to any concerns and was able to answer my questions throughly. The doctor even educated me on topics that I didn’t think about due to other concerns. Overall, an excellent experience! I’m so glad I chose CPA for my children after our move to Mount Pleasant. I couldn’t ask for better care! Thank you all for your kindness and hard work!"

It is Flu Season! It is important to get the flu shot every year because your body's immunity response to the vaccine declines over time. Flu viruses can also change from year to year, so getting a new vaccine it needed every year to protect your child.

Now is the time to protect yourself and others this season by getting the flu shot. You can schedule your flu clinic time in the patient portal or by calling the office.

We love what are #CPAkids parents are saying ....
"Denise Babineau helped me more than anyone else in the whole hospital! There was just something so special about her! I didn't have a pediatrician or practice picked out, but went with Coastal because I wanted to go wherever Denise was affiliated with. I've met her twice in my whole life, but would know her in a heartbeat if i passed her on the street - she just really made a difference in my life right then!" 💗💗💗

All of our offices will be closed Thursday, November 26th & Friday, November 27th in observance of Thanksgiving. We are thankful for, our amazing families. We wish you and your family a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving holiday.

Another great trip for managing stress this holiday season is: Practice gratitude. Despite the craziness that defines 2020, there is much to be grateful for. Acknowledging the things that you are thankful for daily has been shown to improve your relationships, self-esteem, sleep, mental and physical health and can reduce aggression. Help your kids practice gratitude by sharing with them the things you are thankful for and asking them to do the same. Make it part of your daily routine before bed or around the dinner table or when riding in the car.

A great tip for managing your stress during the holidays is, sleep. Sleep is essential! Even an extra 30 minutes of sleep per night can improve focus, mood and energy levels. Prioritize sleep and try to keep to a schedule the roughly resembles your non-holiday schedule. This is especially important for kids, who have a more difficult time with changes in sleep schedules and take longer to acclimate.

Breastfeeding Center of Charleston has teamed up with Liz with Nurse at Night to offer an in-person Infant CPR class on November 19th at 5:30pm. Spaces are limited so visit breastfeedingcenterofcharleston.com to reserve your spot.

Today is World Kindness Day, we are encouraged to spread kindness like an infectious cold. We want to share it more than usual because studies show when others observe kindness in action they are more likely to carry out an act of kindness, too.

Veterans Day gives each of us an opportunity to show our gratitude for the men and women who have given of themselves to defend our Nation’s freedom and independence.

Today, Coastal Pediatric Associates wants to thank the men and women of our practice who have served and continued to serve in the United States Military.

Thank you for your service!

Costume safety
-Remember that a costume mask is not a substitute for a face covering. Instead, decorate your cloth face covering with markers. Make sure it snugly covers the mouth and nose and is made of several layers of breathable fabric. Do not put costume masks over face coverings.
-Wear well-fitting costumes and shoes to prevent trips and falls. Avoid any sharp or long objects as accessories
-Test any face-makeup on a small area of skin before applying broadly.
-Look for the words “flame resistant” on labels of costumes.
-Use a flashlight or glowstick to light pumpkins instead of candles.

Halloween may look a little different this year, but there are many ways to keep your family safe while having fun! Protect yourself and your family from influenza. We recommend yearly flu vaccines for children 6 months and older.

Safe ways to celebrate:

• It is recommended to avoid large gatherings or indoor events. Outdoor events are possible if masks are worn, and social distancing of at least 6 feet is possible.
• Use hand sanitizer frequently with at least 60% alcohol.
• Wash hand thoroughly before eating any treats.
