Simply Moms (formerly MOPS) of Brentwood Neighborhood Church. We are a community of moms who come together to build relationships and fellowship!
Simply Moms is a place for moms to be real about being a mom, wife, woman. As we support and challenge each other, we will develop real friendships that will reflect God's love.
Join us next Tuesday for our kick-off/registration event!

I love this
Sometimes bad parents raise terrific kids.
And sometimes terrific parents raise kids that chase bad things their whole life.
So, what’s a mama to do?
Embrace the process. Learn from the process. Let God speak to us during the process. And see the process of raising kids as an ongoing opportunity to invest beyond ourselves.
We get to love our kids like crazy. Pray for them faithfully. Talk to them regularly. Listen to them tenderly. Model honesty and integrity. And point them to Jesus at every turn.
Rest in the assurance that God sees everything you are investing in your child, sweet friend. And trust that He will use every step of this process for good. In your life. In your child’s life. Even if it doesn’t always look good or feel good.

A great reminder! Happy Mother's Day, friends!
James 1:5-7 reminds us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt."
Sweet mama, God wants you to be single-minded on the reality that if He entrusted those kids to you, you are the exact mom they need. And as the rightful holder of that position, you can believe not only in God but also that you have what it takes to raise those kids right. Keep asking Him to help you each day. Keep asking Him for wisdom. And trust that He absolutely can help you be the mom you need to be.
Wow this is beautiful and so on point for our Simply Moms season!! Let's stop defining ourselves as broken and start defining ourselves as God sees us!! Perfect!
For years, I defined myself as the broken child of a broken daddy. I went to church to get a little “God goodness” in my life. But it was like putting fresh paint on rotting wood.
It wasn’t until I realized I didn’t have to be defined by the circumstances of my life that things started to change. I could be defined by the reality of who God says I am. I wasn’t a broken child of a broken daddy… I was a forgiven and loved child of the Most High God… my Heavenly Father.
I didn’t need a little “God goodness” to rub off on me… I needed God to invade the deepest parts of me.
I didn’t need to be just following the rules. I needed to be following God Himself.
So, I knelt down in the midst of my messy, chaotic, confused life… and started a relationship with Him by simply saying yes.
Yes, I am a sinner in need of a Savior.
Yes, I acknowledge Jesus Christ as the son of God, sent to die on a cross and be resurrected on the third day to save me from my sins.
Yes, I want Jesus to be the Lord and Master of my life.
Yes, I am now and forever will be a forgiven and saved child of the Almighty God.
Yes, I will follow Jesus today, tomorrow, and every other day I’m blessed with on this earth.

I love these little reminders!
When you're facing a hard season, every day can seem like a challenge. But I want to encourage you to not let Satan use this frustration to darken your outlook.
Instead, ask Jesus to shed His light on your situation today. Look at it from Jesus’ perspective. Use truth to do something positive in that area today. Invest the time to make a little imperfect progress right where you are.

Sweet friend, I don't know where you are as you read these words. I don't know the circumstances of your life. I don't know the dream God has given you. Maybe you don't either… yet.
But I do know you're reading this post for a reason… to be reminded that God has a plan for you. A dream you can't even imagine, an assignment you can't figure out and wouldn't even dare to consider as being for you.
I pray that you will find great hope in these words today that God really can use any woman who surrenders her inadequacies and circumstances to Him.

[09/11/15] We need your help! One of our SM leaders, Ashley Pearce's very close friend lost everything in the Jackson fire today. Her friend, Lindsay and her husband, Aaron have a 20 month old daughter and Lindsay is 33 weeks pregnant with twins (a boy & a girl). They literally lost everything. We are looking to collect clothing (size 3T & bigger), shoes (size 4-5) and maybe a few toys for her daughter and any newborn clothes for her twin babies. We can collect anything you would be willing to donate over the weekend, just comment below and I (Tracy) will contact you for pick up. Thanks in advance for your generosity. Please keep the Mason family in your prayers as they move forward from this horrible event.
